J.D. HUGGINS‘ combination of Southern blues and dirty alternative rock is exemplified in his newest single “Who Have You Become” which takes an introspective look at oneself with its probing lyrics, “Who have you become, what are you hiding from?” HUGGINS debuted its music video via YouTube which depicts him playing a dual role cross-examining himself dressed in opposing light and dark clothing. “Who Have You Become” will be featured on HUGGINS debut album, HEAD FULL OF MONSTERS, out July 1 via Struggle Jennings’ Angels & Outlaws record label. Pre-orders will go live on Friday, May 27 at this link: https://onerpm.link/headfullofmonsters. The album was led with three previous singles, “Where We Come From,” “Cage” and title track “Head Full of Monsters,” which features guest vocals from his labelmate Caitlynne Curtis.
HUGGINS was raised in the Appalachian Mountains in a small town in Georgia where he spent his time fishing, hunting, camping and teaching himself how to play the guitar. Born into a musical family, he began songwriting at an early age taking influence from his surroundings. He then moved to Nashville to front the southern rock band Heathen Sons who released two full-length albums and an EP and received notoriety for their single “Temporary Queen” which was featured on the hit ABC show “Blood & Oil.” Before disbanding in 2019, the band was seen performing with acts including Nikki Lane, Jericho Woods, Whiskey Myers, Will Hoge, Leah Blevins and Goodbye June, as well as appearing at Whiskey Jam and SXSW.
