Return to Dust Release New Single For “Black Road (Unplugged)”

The Los Angeles-based grunge trio, Return to Dust, have today announced a reimagined acoustic version of their debut single titled, “Black Road (Unplugged)“. Fans can stream “Black Road (Unplugged)” here.

Speaking on today’s release, co-vocalist Matty Joseph shares:

Having played an entirely acoustic show last week, it was a blast reimagining our whole set (and some new material) in that light. Since Graham and I write the breadth of our material on an acoustic guitar, I think this version of Black Road shows the true nature of our songwriting, while expanding the range of Return to Dust’s sound.”

With nearly two decades of notable experience under his belt, the band’s producer, Jim Kaufman, continues:

Return to Dust’s ability to emote using both electric and acoustic versions of their songs is what initially attracted me to the band. They can stand on their own without the bells and whistles of modern production.

Return to Dust, who are heavily inspired by the legendary Alice In Chains, have already cultivated a reputation in the local Los Angeles music scene without having released any music on streaming platforms. The release of Black Road marks the band’s first ever studio release, produced by none other than Jim Kaufman (Anti-Flag, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet). With their remarkable cinematic approach, the rock trio are on track for an unforgettable year of touring and new music.

ABOUT RETURN TO DUST

How will you fare against the stress of life

Return to Dust has always felt like a hidden gem, a band that could have fallen straight from the 90’s, but stands proudly among the musical landscape of today. This is perhaps a gesture towards the timelessness of grunge’s existential yet relatable message, which spoke to and landed them 30+ recordings with decorated producer and mixer Jim Kaufman.

Despite this trajectory, the band had fallen into one of the myriad of “new band” curses, which is meticulously and quietly planning out their debut release. Thankfully, the band committed to their craft long before showing their faces, as singers Graham Stanush (bass) and Matty Joseph (guitar) formed an eternal bond growing up in the cement capital of Texas. The singers carried this passion to the west coast, where they met their then 16 year old guitarist Sebastian Gonzalez.

Now assimilated, Return to Dust has already made its mark, touring up and down the west coast, playing Vegas, Phoenix, every slummy bar in San Gabriel Valley, and personally gaining a stamp of approval from Matt Pinfield on KLOS —- the band is a ticking time bomb to hundreds of eager fans.

Their new single Black Road” is a four on the floor heavy rock anthem about self-sacrifice, and forging your own path, released on all platforms April 27th

ABOUT BOYS LIKE GIRLS:

If it’s true what they say—that there’s something in the dirty water of Boston’s Charles River—then Boys Like Girls drank up.  Little else could explain the band’s meteoric rise after forming as teenagers in 2004. In the modern age a story like theirs is designed in boardrooms over speakerphone. The story of Boys Like Girls, however, was forged from the very beginning in the damp basements, garages, and VFW halls of the Massachusetts coastline over tattered lyric books, guitars, drums, and a collective dream. A half billion Spotify streams later it‘s clear this was a fairy tale in its first act, and the world was about to find out.

What followed was the self-titled debut album Boys Like Girls [2006]—nearing Multi-Platinum RIAA certification—and its chart-topping successor “Love Drunk” [2009]—which bowed at #1 on the Top Rock Albums Chart and Top 10 on the Billboard 200. There were a slew of successful singles including Platinum-certified hits “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk”, as well as Gold-certified hits “Hero/Heroine” and “Thunder”. There was the Platinum-certified, BMI award-winning Hot 100 duet with Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One”.  There were sold-out shows, international tours, and unforgettable moments from Madison Square Garden to Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia.  But by 2012 lead singer and song-writer Martin Johnson was beginning to feel the universe pulling him into a new arena.

Collaboration was nothing new to Johnson, but for the first time he began writing and producing music not intended for his own band.  What followed was another string of wild successes with hits from Taylor Swift, Ariana GrandeBlink-182Avril LavigneJason DeruloDaughtryChristina PerriGavin DegrawPentatonix, and more.  This—along with Johnson’s bandmates’ own successful musical endeavors—lead to a years-long hiatus for Boys Like Girls.

In 2016 the band would return to the road for the 10th Anniversary tour of their debut record.  While fans across America were ecstatic for the reunion they’d been waiting for, internally it felt more like a farewell. “It was important to us to leave it all out there for the fans,” Johnson says.  “To really give them the ‘thank you’ they deserved.”

In 2019 Boys Like Girls plotted another return to the road—this time to Australia and Asia. However, their plans would be delayed due to the global events of 2020.  After  making good on their promise to return in 2022 and punctuating the tour by playing both weekends at the lauded Las Vegas When We Were Young Festival, Boys Like Girls meant more than ever not only to the band’s members, but to the fans as well.

It’s for this reason that Boys Like Girls has signed with Fearless/Concord Records and will release new music again for the first time in over 10 years. The band now works out of Johnson’s Nashville recording studio and has embraced a newfound sense of creative freedom rooted in the same energy that sparked their seminal output.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES & VILLE VALO Co-Headline Fall Tour Of U.S. & Canada

This fall, the classic season for dark and romantic music, BLACK VEIL BRIDES and VV (VILLE VALO) will co-headline a massive tour in select cities across North America. Presented by Hot Topic, the BVB & VV 2023 tour (featuring special guests DARK DIVINE) combines three unique bands who champion the heavy-hearted, hopeless, and broken with mixtures of high intensity and melody.

Produced by Live Nation, tickets to the tour will be available starting Tuesday, May 30 at 12 pm ET via presales with additional presales running throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, June 2 at 10 am local time on LiveNation.com. For more information on the presales visit BlackVeilBrides.net.

“We cannot wait to join forces with Ville Valo and give both of our audiences in North America an unforgettable experience each night,” says Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack. “This run has been in the works for quite a while. We couldn’t be happier now that we can finally share the news. Ville is an icon. We have all been fans of his not only for his work in the hugely influential band HIM but as a torchbearer for an entire generation of rock fans and musicians.”

“There’s something tinnitus-inducingly romantic about the idea of being sandwiched nightly between Black Veil Brides and Dark Divine on this autumnal trek across North America,” muses Valo. “And imagining us explore the architecture of doom and gloom from three distinctly different musical perspectives has already made the bats in my belfry suitably ravenous.”

Andy adds, “This tour is a dream come true and will be something special. Dark Divine is new to the scene but garnering a lot of attention quickly and rightfully so. They are hands down one of the best young bands out there, and we are certain the BVB Army and VV fans will love them.”

Committed to uncompromising expression, with a foundation in hard rock tradition and rule-breaking iconoclasm, Black Veil Brides is a transcendent celebration of life-affirming power and anthemic catharsis. A gothic vision first summoned in a small town by an isolated kid fascinated with death, rock, theatricality, and monsters (both real and imagined), Black Veil Brides is now a postmodern heavy metal institution with a legion of like-minded fans and supporters worldwide.

2021’s The Phantom Tomorrow produced BVB’s first Top 10 single, “Scarlet Cross.” Last year’s The Mourning EP offered similar success with “Saviour II,” joining a rich catalog that includes “Knives and Pens” (over 160 million views on YouTube), the certified gold “Fallen Angels,” and the recently certified platinum “In the End.” (It’s possible Black Veil Brides may even release another brand-new song in the not-too-distant future…)

HIM, renowned as one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time, has sold over ten million records. Ville Valo, the band’s frontman, released a series of beloved albums with HIM from 1997 through 2013, boasting influential modern goth-rock anthems like “Right Here in My Arms,” “Join Me in Death,” “Buried Alive by Love,” and “Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly.” Declaring Neon Noir a perfect record for fans of HIM, Ghost, and Evanescence, Kerrang! wrote, “If you’ve been seduced in Mr. Valo’s musical twilight before, then you can now prepare to pulse in the glow of the heartagram once again.” In a VV cover story, Valo told the magazine, “It is a continuation of what I’ve done in the past and what might happen next.”

ATREYU Announces Fall Canada Dates with Iron Maiden Plus Performances at Rocklahoma 2023 and Blue Ridge Rock Fest

Atreyu announces Canadian dates with Iron Maiden in Calgary on September 28 at Scotiabank Saddledome, Edmonton on September 30 at Rogers Place, and Vancouver on October 2 at Rogers Arena.

The band will perform at Rocklahoma 2023 and the Blue Ridge Rock Fest in the fall ahead of the Canada dates.

“Honored to share the stage again with such a legendary and incredibly entertaining band as Iron Maiden,” said Atreyu. “Atreyu has always been a high-energy band live, and with our forces combined it will be one hell of a show.”

Atreyu recently released The Hope of a Spark EP on April 21 via Spinefarm. The 4 tracks embody everything that the band has come to be, to mean, to represent, marking the beginning of the next chapter in the band’s story, with assorted pieces of an expansive puzzle still taking shape, form, and focus .

“The overarching concept is essentially about the seasons of life,” frontman, Brandon Saller explains. “Everyone goes through the same things, the ups, and downs of life. The emphasis really is the importance of at least respecting those, and finding the positives and the lessons from even your lowest moments.”

The new single, “God/Devil,” laments a loss of identity, self, and faith, a desperate cry for help from a higher power, when our greatest power is one we need to find within .

North American Tour Dates:

09/02 – Pyror, OK @ Rocklahoma 2023

09/07 – Alton, VA @ Blue Ridge Rock Festival

09/28 – Calgary, AB @ Scotiabank Saddledome – purchase tickets

09/30 – Edmonton, AB @ Rogers Place – purchase tickets

10/02 – Vancouver, BC @ Rogers Arena – purchase tickets

ATREYU ushered in a new movement in heavy music. Their music seamlessly intertwines with formative experiences for a diverse legion of dedicated listeners, many of whom started their own bands. They’ve broken into the Top 10 in the Billboard 200 more than once; two of their albums, The Curse and Lead Sails Paper Anchor, are certified gold with 2 million albums sold worldwide and an encompassing 600 million streams. Their most recent album, Baptize has clocked 65 million streams alongside a Top 10 at rock radio hit with “Warrior” featuring Travis Barker.

Where once the band was heralded as the early innovators of the nascent metalcore scene, their place in heavy music’s diverse and boundary-breaking scene has never felt more relevant, with inspirations of pop-punk, hardcore, thrash, ‘80s rock, and more melding into a unique and varied sound that has never felt more relevant than in today’s increasingly genreless world.

With a 20-year career and eight acclaimed albums in the rear-view mirror, ATREYU in 2023 is focused only on the present and the future, and a mission to continue shaping and defining the rock and metal scene, just as they have always done since their emergence from Huntington Beach in Southern California.

Frontman Brandon Saller, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Porter McKnight and drummer Kyle Rosa are one of the most respected names and potent forces in heavy music, and their live show is one of the most heralded on the touring circuit.

Loose Sutures trio’s “Sado Sex for Dummies” new LP out via Electric Valley Rec. with Nick Oliveri & Alain Johannes as guests

Fuzzy stoner/garage punk group Loose Sutures has released their third record, Sado Sex for Dummies, today (26 May) via Electric Valley Records. The Sardinian act’s first studio outing as a trio, the album features a couple of other guests, including the heavy rock royalties Nick Oliveri and Alain Johannes.

States Loose Sutures:
“‘Sado Sex for Dummies’ is the ultimate guide for all the pervs across the globe! On this sticky tour, you’ll find all you need: how to escape from a party gone wrong and survive a spell to your bone, chronicles from a highway shooter, valentines from Lucifer, and so much more. So whip out the whips and let’s welcome violence!”

Sado Sex for Dummies has physically appeared on three editions of vinyl (Black, White, and Ultra LTD “Sado Edition”); ORDER at Label’s BANDCAMP (Digital & Vinyl) or the label’s WEBSTORE. (Currently, only the Black edition is available).

Assembled in 2019 by four roughnecks, Loose Sutures plays classic ’70s riffs with a pinch of modern punk attitude, conjuring a blend of stoner and garage energy and displaying an abundance of evil beats, venomous fuzzes, and raunchy lyrics. Loose Sutures’ music has been praised by fans and critics for evoking a dark and seductive atmosphere reminiscent of cult exploitation movies.

Depicting killer profiles and kinky love stories, the Sardinian group presented their self-titled debut LP in March 2020 via Electric Valley Records. They followed it up with the sophomore album, A Gash with Sharp Teeth and Other Tales, the following year via Electric Valley Records; it later saw a Japanese edition in the Spring of 2022. Introducing the newly recruited Giuseppe Hussain (who replaced Gianpaolo Cherchi, guitars/vocals), the album is “a journey delving into lust with filthy guitars, stoned rhythms, and creepy voices escorting you deep inside the sticky core of what you fear yet desire at the same time.”

Loose Sutures again encountered a lineup change in 2022 when Giuseppe Hussain left the band, leaving the band to operate as a trio. It was a setback, but they refused to let it hold them back. Longtime fellow Marco “Grey” Manca joined to take care of the role of Giuseppe on the “High Heeled Barbarians Tour” around Europe the same year.

Sado Sex for Dummies, as the name hints, is a complete handbook to satisfy the needs of the pervs, sadists, and killers out there. An invitation to indulge in fuzz-drenched, punk-‘n-roll violence, this third record from Loose Sutures has no shortage of lurid stories. While there is a touch of evolution, the album has not strayed too far from the band’s established hard, fast, and crude sound. To add more spice to some songs, the album features some guest musicians, including the legendary Nick Oliveri and Alain Johannes

Get ready to be taken on a frenzied ride into the depths of your darkest desires.
