AMARANTHE Release New Album “The Catalyst” and Drop Music Video For Title Song

TodaySweden’s masters of thunderous, melodic futurism, AMARANTHE, release their highly anticipated album The Catalyst via Nuclear Blast Records. Along with the album release, a music video has dropped for the title track. Watch it here:

The band states: “The proverbial eagle has landed! After a few years of hard toil, sweat, and at least a small amount of blood, we are enormously proud and downright electrified to know that our newborn and latest album – The Catalyst is available worldwide! This has truly been a journey of pure passion and creative experimentation, along with a dose of soul-searching for good measure. We hope that you will find it to your taste, and if you do – don’t forget to stop by The Catalyst World Tour when it hits a town near YOU!”

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE’s storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

“We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time,” Mörck grins. “In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous.”

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

AMARANTHE Announce New Vocalist and drop fresh single “Damnation Flame”

It’s getting hot out there: Swedish modern metal heroes AMARANTHE deliver the soundtrack for a fiery festival summer with the release of their new single ‘Damnation Flame’ today! With its symphonic touch and uplifting chorus, the band once again showcases their outstanding songwriting skills while maintaining their image as Sweden’s most exciting metal export.

Mastermind Olof states about the new song:
“‘Damnation Flame’ breaks new ground for us in many ways, and in all the best ways possible. This is the very first AMARANTHE song to feature symphonic elements, something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and the darkened vampiric theme melds together perfectly with our take on modern melodic metal! AMARANTHE has always been about being boundless and constantly reinventing ourselves, and by now you know to expect the unexpected. This is 100% pure passion poured into music, as you will no doubt experience yourself from the very first second – enjoy ‘Damnation Flame’, with the promise of much more to come SOON!”

‘Damnation Flame’ doesn’t only mark the start of some hot live shows this summer but also introduces AMARANTHE‘s new vocalist Mikael Sehlin to their internationally growing fanbase. Olof continues:
“After a practically global search, and several amazing guest growlers to help us out on shows and tours we finally found just the right person for the job, in our very own Swedish capital of Stockholm! Mikael Sehlin has EVERYTHING it takes to join the AMARANTHE line up, and his versatility and musicality completes and underscores our vision for our new album and the general future for AMARANTHE perfectly. From the deepest guttural grunts to soaring screams Mikael is growling perfection incarnate, so please give a roaring welcome to the new star upon the AMARANTHE firmament!”

Mikael Sehlin himself adds:
Hello everyone, Mike here! I am very thrilled to tell you I will fill the slot as the new Amaranthe growler and I can’t wait to meet you guys out there!
I hope you like the upcoming tracks to which I’ve had the honor recording growls to.
Take care and see you soon!”

AMARANTHE Release Single “Make It Better” Feat. Jennifer Haben

A few weeks ago, Swedish modern metal sensation AMARANTHE began to release a series of very special interpretations of songs from their 2020 hit album, Manifest.Today, the band are proud to present the latest and final entry in this sequence of unique singles: a new version of the song “Make It Better” which now features BEYOND THE BLACK‘s Jennifer Haben on guest vocals. Please check out this new rendition below.

AMARANTHE have spent the last decade establishing themselves as a formidable, positive, and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014’s Massive Addictive and its immaculate follow-up Maximalism (2016), AMARANTHE have masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep, and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist Olof Mörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.

Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018’s hugely successful Helix: an album that pushed the band’s vision to new heights, breadths, and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalist, recent recruit Nils Molin.

Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, Manifest is simply the most daring, dynamic, and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE have released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it’s a Technicolor celebration of metal’s ageless power, blazing with all of life’s colors and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

Throughout this October and November, AMARANTHE will be on tour with BEYOND THE BLACK. Since these dates had been previously postponed, both bands can’t wait to hit the road again and spend some unforgettable nights with their fans across Europe! Furthermore, both BUTCHER BABIES and AD INFINITUM will join the tour as special guests.

AMARANTHE Release Cinematic Version Of “Strong” As New Single

Swedish metal heroes AMARANTHE continue to showcase their versatility and eclectic musical taste. After having released a beautiful orchestral version of their power ballad “Crystalline” and a flamenco-tinged acoustic rendition of their banger “Adrenaline” they are now following up with a “cinematic” version of their hit single “Strong” on which – again – the heavy guitars make way for atmospheric synth layers and orchestral arrangements, giving the song a more laid-back and at the same time very enchanting theatrical feel. You can check out this new interpretation below.

AMARANTHE comment:
“One of the true high points of the MANIFEST sessions was creating the bonus tracks – after being incredibly happy with the final mix of the main album, we still had an influx of creative energy left in us. The cinematic version of ‘Strong’ was born from just such a momentum, as we wanted to display a totally different side of the song, as well are our own musical output. We truly hope that you will enjoy this different and very epic side of AMARANTHE!”

AMARANTHE Release Fiery Acoustic Version Of “Adrenaline”

There’s no rest for the wicked! After releasing a beautiful orchestral version of their power ballad “Crystalline”, Swedish metal heroes AMARANTHE turn up the heat and deliver a spicy variation of “Adrenaline”. “Adrenalina” transforms the modern metal anthem into a seductive summer hit featuring new Spanish lyrics and virtuoso acoustic guitar pickings.

AMARANTHE comment on “Adrenalina’:
“At the very tail end of the ‘MANIFEST’ sessions, we were looking into the traditional bonus tracks and wanted to do something special for these ones. ‘Adrenaline’ already had a slightly latin sounding C-part, and after breaking out the classical guitar and a glass of Rioja, the flamenco vibes were filling the studio. The result is ‘Adrenalina’, and it might very well be our own favourite bonus track we have done so far! Enjoy!”

AMARANTHE Release Beautifully Orchestrated Version Of “Crystalline”

This song surely gave the one or another listener goosebumps when being performed on one of AMARANTHE‘s breathtaking live shows, and now a transition of the feelings has been created by releasing a remarkable music video for “Crystalline”.

The majestic interplay of orchestral arrangements and in turn distorted guitars is visually underlined in the new stunning music video and not least by the vocal performance between Elize Ryd and Nils Molin

By releasing this music video AMARANTHE is taking the anthem to a new level which lets the song resurrect, supported by the passion and the emotions which can now also be transferred visually.

AMARANTHE comment on the new video:
“‘Crystalline’ was a song born from pure emotions in the moment, and we felt that it truly deserved its own spotlight as a single together with a video. Shot at Rydzyna, a 17th-century Château outside of Wrocław, Poland, long-time collaborators Grupa13 once again worked their visual magic for the video. We hope you will love the result just as much as we do!”

As if that wasn’t enough, the song celebrates a rebirth – and is now released as “Crystalline (Orchestral Version)”which differs not only in sound but also in the emotions and harmonies carried by the orchestral elements can be truly felt. The newly arranged orchestral version is released along with the original version of the song since the original version can be heard in the new music video.

AMARANTHE have spent the last decade establishing themselves as a formidable, positive, and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014’s Massive Addictive and its immaculate follow-up Maximalism (2016), AMARANTHE has masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep, and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist Olof Mörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.
Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018’s hugely successful Helix: an album that pushed the band’s vision to new heights, breadths, and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalists, Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson and recent recruit Nils Molin.
Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, Manifest is simply the most daring, dynamic, and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE has released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it’s a Technicolor celebration of metal’s ageless power, blazing with all of life’s colors and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

AMARANTHE is:
