About Lamb of God

For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world,” Guitar World observed. Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to arena headliners. Over the course of their career, the Richmond, Virginia-based band earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Timeless songs like “Laid to Rest,” “Redneck,” “Walk with Me in Hell,” and “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For” became anthems in the heavy metal songbook. They shoved heavy metal into the new millennium with New American Gospel (2000). As the Palaces Burn (2003) joined Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first Lamb Of Gold album certified gold by the RIAA, a feat once all but impossible for a contemporary extreme metal band. Sacrament (2006), Revolver’s Album of the Year, went gold as well. The raw and organic malice of Wrath (2009) began the band’s enduring relationship with Wilbur. Both the diverse Resolution (2012) and the explosive VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. The 2020 self-titled set, their first new material in five years, added instant classics “Memento Mori” and “Resurrection Man” to the repertoire, alongside eight more monster tracks. Revolver, Metal Hammer, and Loudwire included Lamb Of God on their year-end Best Albums lists. The momentum continues with Omens, the band’s most aggressive and ambitious album yet.

LAMB OF GOD Releases New Album Omens Now

Premieres New Video For “Ditch”

Watch and listen to “Ditch” from LAMB OF GOD’s 9th album, Omens.  The new single and full album Omens, from the GRAMMY-nominated metal masters, is available everywhere for download and streaming as well as on CD, Vinyl and Cassette here: https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/Omens

All physical CD and Vinyl copies of Omens include a free access code to watch the documentary. Standalone video-on-demand tickets are on-sale now.

“In February 2022, we entered Henson Studios in Los Angeles, CA to begin recording our 9th studio album, what would become Omens. We recorded this record the old-fashioned way… with five of us, in a room together, playing music. We filmed the entire process.” – Lamb of God

The documentary will include four full song performances recorded in the live room at Henson Studios: ‘Nevermore’‘Omens’, ‘Vanishing’ and ‘Gomorrah’.”

Omens follows 2020’s self-titled No. 1 Hard Rock Album, saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NME. Omens is perhaps their angriest album yet. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth), Omens is a vicious new testament for the Richmond, Virginia-based band, a furious entry in their beloved catalog. “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world,” Blythe explains. “It’s a very pissed-off record.” He pauses for emphasis. “It is extremely pissed-off.”

The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal architects tracked Omens at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, a location that birthed classics from The Doors, The Ramones, and Soundgarden, among others. “The inner workings of the band have never been better,” explains guitarist Mark Morton. “You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.”

The Omens album is available on CD and Vinyl now at Lamb-Of-God.com, featuring several exclusive items, including colored vinyl, shirts, hoodies, box sets, and CDs with an alternate color cover.

LIVE REVIEW: LAMB OF GOD THE OMENS TOUR 2022

When Lamb of God decided to hit the road for the 2022 summer “The Omens Tour” they brought some strong supporting acts along with them. They received direct support from Killswitch Engage and for the Sterling Heights date they brought along Baroness and Suicide Silence as well. While Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage will be on the road together for 6 weeks, the supporting acts are changing periodically throughout that time. Future legs of the tour will also include various combinations with Motionless in White, Spiritbox, Animals as Leaders, and Fit for an Autopsy.

Founded in 2002 Suicide Silence looked like a very different than the version we know today. Today the only remaining founding member is Chris Garza, on rhythm guitar. The band has a dark past. Having lost their founding vocalist, Mitch Lucker, in late 2012 to a motorcycle accident, they took a break until late 2013 when they announced Eddie Hermida would step up as lead vocals. They have always had a fast-paced deathcore sound that has remained over the years. The set they played at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill was no debarment from the sound and stage presence expected at a deathcore show. They started the night with the 2007 song “Unanswered.” This opening song set the tone for the whole night. To say it started off right was an understatement.

Up next was the Savannah Georgia powerhouse heavy metal band known as Baroness. They took the stage by going right into “The Sweetest Curse.” The quartet moved just as harmoniously as the songs they played. Their stage presence during the whole performance included lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist John Baizley taking turns playing facing lead guitarists Gina Gleason and again with bassist Nick Jost. John, Gina, and Nick all played their instruments and contributed to vocals throughout the set. They were also joined on stage by drummer Sebastian Thomson. Their stage energy was infectious to everyone at the amphitheater. As expected, this intoxicating energy continued as they played their entire set.

When someone hears a Killswitch Engage song now it is hard to not know it is distinctly theirs. In the beginning their sound was distinctly different when the band formed lead guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz’s distinctive sounds were not part of the mix just yet; Adam started on Drums when the band first formed. In the twenty-three years that they have been playing music together Adam along with Jesse Leach, Joel Stroetzel, and Mike D’Antonio were all founding members, sometimes switching up what and how they play as a band. In 2002 Justin Foley joined the band and took over drums from Adam. For ten years of the band’s history from 2002 until 2012 Howard Jones was on Lead vocals, however he had to step away for medical reasons. This departure brought the band back to virtually the same lineup that had been together since 1999. Bands who have passed the twenty-year mark together have a certain seamless continuity on stage. Killswitch Engage is by far no exception. They moved and played with such grace it felt like the audience was watching a group of friends have a jam session in their friend’s basement. Starting off the night with “Strength of Mind” and flowing right into one of their top songs, “This is Absolution.” This raised the energy level of the whole crowd. This energy did not falter throughout the rest of the set. They closed out the Dio cover of “Holy Diver” and “The Signal Fire.” These two songs brought the vitality needed to prepare the crowd for the headliners, Lamb of God.

The band now and mostly commonly known as Lamb of God is a band that is adored my many. No matter if you have known the band since before they had a singer in the mid-ninety’s or if you just found them today, it is easy to see how so many fans they have worldwide. Singer Randy Blythe has had twenty-seven years to perfect his stage presence fronting Lamb of God and it shows every time he takes the stage. Randy was joined on stage by founding members, Mark Morton on guitar and John Campbell on bass, long time member Willie Adler on guitar, and newer additional Art Cruz on drums. This lineup is strong and always delivers a strong, fiery performance. The pyrotechnics at Lamb of God shows are always something welcomed. They opened the set with “Memento Mori”, took a small pause and brought the heat with “Walk with Me in Hell.” The set had a balanced mix of songs from their albums starting with the 2003 album As the Palaces Burn as well as songs from the newest 2022 album The Omens and ended the set with one of their top favorites, “Redneck.” As always, the heavy metal heroes known as Lamb of God brought the excitement needed to energize an entire amphitheater on a rainy Sunday night in Metro Detroit.

LAMB OF GOD Drops GRAYSCALE Single

With potent and palpable intensity, the momentum continues for Omens, arguably Lamb Of God‘s most aggressive and ambitious work to date … and today the Grammy-nominated goliath unleash their third single “Grayscale” from the forthcoming Omens album out October 7 on Epic Records.

Willie Adler says ‘Grayscale’ has just a smack you in the face, bit of hardcore feel to it. We had basically finished writing the record and I wrote this song thinking it won’t necessarily be a Lamb song. I sent it to Josh Wilbur, our producer, to check out and he responded with ‘Perfect, this is the last song we need for the record!'”

The heavy “Grayscale” includes Blythe’s vibrantly unhinged vocal attack plus Morton and Adler‘s threatening riffage to challenge and devastate headbangers alike and also features Cruz and Campbell‘s unstoppable rhythms.

Across their career Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to arena headliners. The New Wave of American Heavy Metal architects earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) MetallicaSlayer, and Megadeth. For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world, whose timeless songs became anthems in the heavy metal songbook, with gargantuan vocals born from both righteous anger and devotion, and unrivaled riffs for the ages.

The new single is available everywhere for download and streaming. The Omens album arrives on October 7, 2022, on Epic Records. Don’t miss the gargantuan Omens Tour this fall.

Omens follows 2020’s self-titled No. 1 Hard Rock Album, saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NMEOmens is perhaps their angriest album yet. Lamb Of God Reveals New Album & Tour Details

LAMB OF GOD follows 2020’s No. 1 Hard Rock Album with a vicious new testament. Riding high on a creative renaissance saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NME, the Grammy-nominated goliath returns with the gloriously unhinged Omens, produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth).

The first single, “Nevermore,” arrives on Friday, June 10. Omens follows on October 7 via Epic Records.

The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal architects will support the new album with a massive Live Nation produced U.S. headlining tour, The Omens Tour, featuring special guests Killswitch Engage on all dates. Different legs will also see support from Baroness, Motionless In White, Spiritbox, Animals As Leaders as well as Suicide Silence and Fit For An Autopsy. The tour kicks off September 9 in Brooklyn and runs through October 20, see full routing below. Tickets went on sale June 10 on lamb-of-god.com.

“Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music. Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.” – Mark Morton

Densely muscular, soaked in unnerving spite, with a pessimistic eye toward inner struggles and global affairs alike, Omens is a furious entry in the Lamb Of God catalog, perhaps their angriest album yet. “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world,” explains vocalist D. Randall Blythe. “It’s a very pissed-off record.” He pauses for emphasis. “It is extremely pissed-off.”

Omens is also Lamb Of God’s most diverse affair. The band tracked live in the room together at Henson Recording Studios (formerly A&M Studios) in Los Angeles, California, a location that birthed classics from The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, and Soundgarden, among others. “The inner workings of the band have never been better,” explains guitarist Mark Morton. “You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.”

The Omens album pre-order is live now at Lamb-Of-God.com, boasting several exclusive items, including a signed colored vinyl variant, shirt, hoodie, and signed CDs with an alternate color cover. All physical CD and Vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of “The Making of Omens” documentary, which will premiere the week of album release.

MEGADETH & LAMB OF GOD ANNOUNCE 2ND LEG OF THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR

With Special Guests Trivium & In Flames

Following the enormous success of their 2021 co-headline US tour, metal titans MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD have today announced the second US run of their aptly named METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR. Joining them will be special guests TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES. Tickets for the second leg of THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR, produced by Live Nation, will go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday, January 14th from MetalTourOfTheYear.com.
THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR was originally announced and planned for 2020 but was halted by the pandemic. Fans waited patiently for touring to return and in the summer of 2021 were granted their wish. THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR was one of the first national amphitheater tours to hit the road in 2021 and saw co-headliners MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD hit 29 cities across North America with special guests TRIVIUM and HATEBREED, who stepped in to replace IN FLAMES who couldn’t join the tour due to travel restrictions. The tour was met with enormous acclaim, truly living up to its name and playing to a whopping 172,000 metal fans in the process.

Speaking on the success of the initial leg of the tour and his excitement in hitting the road again in 2022, MEGADETH’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says    “The Metal Tour of The Year is exactly what it sounds like – a night of some of the best heavy metal bands in the world – live and loud. Anyone who came to a show last year knows what I mean, only this one’s going be even better. Do not miss out.”Randy Blythe, inimitable frontman of LAMB OF GOD, adds   “It was great to get out on the road for an incredible tour last summer with Megadeth, Trivium and Hatebreed so we figured we’d do it again! We look forward to hitting new cities with Megadeth, Trivium and In Flames, who we’re happy to have over for leg 2!”TRIVIUM’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy adds   “The Metal Tour Of The Year was one of the strongest, most incredible Metal tours in ages – it’s namesake nothing but accurate. How do you follow that up? By doing it again – even bigger, even better, and have it play everywhere it didn’t on the first leg. MTOTYII – let’s do this. “  With IN FLAMES singer, Anders Fridén stating   ”We are excited to finally be able to join our dear friends in Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Trivium on this year’s, Metal Tour of The Year! We can’t wait to be back on the road in America and to reunite with you all. Don’t miss this tour it’s a juggernaut.”   Produced by Live Nation, the second leg of this epic metal trek will kick off on Saturday, April 9th in Las Vegas, NV and hit a further 21 cities before wrapping in Allentown, PA on Sunday, May 15. Full tour itinerary below   Tickets and VIP packages for all artists go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, January 14th, 2022 at 10am local time via MetalTourOfTheYear.com
The tour will be part of Live Nation’s Live Stubs initiative which provides digital, collectible NFT ticket stubs to ticket holders. Reimagining ticket stubs as digital collectible NFTs, Live Nation’s Live Stubs will mirror the unique section, row, and seat of each ticket purchased, allowing fans to collect ticket stubs once again – this time with more capabilities. Live Stubs will automatically be included with tickets on select Live Nation shows in North America. Fans will be able to view, share, gift, trade, and resell their live stubs on Livenation.com. These are collector items and will not replace the digital tickets needed to physically enter the show.

It was over 30 years ago that Dave Mustaine founded MEGADETH, in the process pioneering the sound that would become known the world over as thrash metal. And from the very beginning, the band proved to be the most lethal and audacious unit on the heavy music scene, pushing thrash to the limits of musical ferocity and instrumental virtuosity on early efforts like their 1985 debut, Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good! and 1986’s seminal Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?.   MEGADETH have taken their place as one of metal’s most influential and respected acts—not to mention among its most successful. LAMB OF GOD propelled heavy metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004, was the first LAMB OF GOD album to be certified gold by the RIAA, as was 2006’s Sacrament, which also made a Top 10 Billboard 200 chart debut. In 2009, LAMB OF GOD released Wrath, their first with Josh Wilbur as producer, and earned the number one album spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts, with a number two position on the Billboard 200.    Those number one positions were repeated with 2012’s Resolution, which swung effortlessly between thrash, traditional metal, sludgy doom, with flashes of crust punk swagger and bravado. LAMB OF GOD’s last album, VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) made its debut on the Billboard 200 at number three and finished number 2 in the world charts, reaching Top 5 in five countries and six additional Top 15 positions. The single “512” was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for “Best Metal Performance”, the band’s fifth nomination.   In 2020 LAMB OF GOD released their critically acclaimed self-titled opus, the band’s best work to date, featuring new drummer Art Cruz, LAMB OF GOD is re-energized and unrelenting, ready to lay claim to the metal throne.

TRIVIUM’s tenth album In The Court Of The Dragon arrived in 2021. The band and album have been praised by and featured in mainstream outlets like The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, TechCrunch, and Kotaku, as well as Guitar World, Revolver, Alternative Press, and more. They released the now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!’s “Album of the Year,” achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. Metal Hammer placed it in the Top 15 of “The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of the 21st Century.” It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017’s benchmark “The Sin And The Sentence.”    That album elevated the group’s total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, “Betrayer” received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance.” Unanimous acclaim followed from Decibel, Loudwire, Ultimate Guitar, MetalSucks, and Metal Hammer, who dubbed them, “quite simply one of the best bands in modern metal.” 2020 brought What The Dead Men Say. The album was produced by Trivium and Josh Wilbur and debuted at #35 on the Billboard Top 200; at #2 on the Top Current Albums Chart, and at #3 on both the Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Rock Albums Chart. They have performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and beyond.
