Airbourne World Tour 2022 show in Vancouver BC, Canada

Aussie rockers AIRBOURNE are wrapping up their Fall 2022 North American tour. The tour kicked off September 9 in New York City and runs through October 11 in Los Angeles. The tour is the band’s first U.S. and Canadian run since the release of  2019’s Boneshaker.

Before the tour the band said: “We are from Melbourne, the most locked down city in the world. Unleashed at last, Airbourne are the most set-free animals on the planet. Look out! They wouldn’t let us in for two years, and after this tour, they’ll never let us back. Get your tickets — NOW OR NEVER!!” And everybody headed the advice. The fans are flocking all over the North America to see them live. This Monday they stopped by in Vancouver, BC in Canada at Commandore Ballroom.

Airbourne offered true and genuine Australian hard rock to the audience. First song on the setlist was not a question but a statement – Ready To Rock. During the opening act of the concert, Joe O’Keeffe toured the crowd of fans, based on shoulders and arms of the group’s technical staff. The beer served by a fan, which was sprayed over the heads of excited spectators, was not tainted. Airbourne – genuine rock in terms of music, attitude and performance. It must be experienced in person!

Every album is represented within their set but the most played was their debut album Runnin’ Wild with four songs.

BUSH Release New Single “Heavy Is The Ocean”

From The New Album ‘The Art Of Survival’ Due October 7

Iconic GRAMMY® Award-nominated rock band BUSH are set to return with their long-awaited ninth full-length album, The Art of Survival, scheduled for release October 7, 2022 via BMG. Following the release of hard-hitting first single “More Than Machines”, currently Top 12 in the U.S. Rock charts and described as “hypnotic” by the NME, BUSH have unveiled the album’s powerful and explosive opening track, “Heavy Is The Ocean”.

As soon as Gavin Rossdale heard the riff he said, “Oh Lord, this is going to open the record. It really sets the tone and the gravitas of the album. I love the power of the ocean. It’s mesmerising to me. It feeds your soul. The song uses the imagery I love. At this point, I’m chained at the zoo of rock! So, I was like, ‘Fuck it, I’m going to turn that puppy up. This one definitely represents “The Art of Survival”.”

BUSH wrote and recorded what would become The Art of Survival during 2022, reteaming with Erik Ron [Panic! At The Disco, Godsmack] who produced “Flowers On A Grave” and the title track for the group’s acclaimed previous album, The Kingdom (2020), and collaborated once again on two tracks with film composer, musician, and producer Tyler Bates [300, Guardian of the Galaxy]. The central theme speaks to both the human spirit’s resiliency in the face of trials and tribulations as well as the band’s own enduring place as rock outliers.

Rossdale adds, “Instead of being mournful or self-piteous, this is about the success stories of humanity’s survival against the odds. People just find a way to push through. We’ve all obviously suffered in varying degrees. I think the nature of life is the art of survival. Everyone is being tested all of the time, but we find a way. In recent memory, we’ve made major strides and shown great resilience in the face of war, endless instances of racism, gender politics, a pandemic, and a melting pot of what we’ve experienced. For me, The Art of Survival encompasses all of this.”

The Art of Survival marks the group’s first new release since their critically acclaimed 2020 LP, The Kingdom (BMG). Pre-order/pre-save The Art of Survival HERE.

ABOUT BUSH:

After three decades, 20 million records sold, a GRAMMY® Award nomination, 1 billion streams, and a procession of #1 hits, BUSH stand tall as rock outliers whose imprint only widens as the years pass. Turn on rock radio, and it won’t be long before you hear “Glycerine” or “Machinehead.” On the big screen, their music courses through blockbuster franchises such as John Wick. On the road, they regularly pack amphitheaters and ignite festival stages. In 1994, the group delivered their seminal debut, Sixteen Stone. It notably achieved a six-times platinum certification, remaining a pillar of modern rock. Rolling Stone cited it among “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year, while Stereogum exclaimed, “It feels like music untethered from time, separate from its history. The triple-platinum follow-up,

Razorblade Suitcase, bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and boasted “Swallowed,” which garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Hard Rock Performance. Their catalog spans the platinum The Science of Things [1999] through Black and White Rainbows [2017]. Most recently, 2020’s The Kingdom arrived to acclaim highlighted by “Flowers On A Grave” and “Bullet Holes.” Thus far, they have notched 23 straight Top 40 hits on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, earning six #1 entries. As indefatigable as ever, they’re still here too, which brings us to their ninth full-length offering, The Art of Survival [BMG]. These twelve tracks aren’t just the sound of a band surviving though; they’re the sound of a band bucking trends, breaking ground, and besting even their most celebrated canon.

NOTHING MORE Share New Single/Video “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS”

As three-time Grammy-nominated hard rock quartet NOTHING MORE gear up to hit the road later this month alongside IN THIS MOMENT, the band have shared a fourth new track, “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS,” from theirupcoming album SPIRITS– out October 14 and available for pre-order now. The impassioned song examines what happens when one tries to make a one-sided relationship work with all-too-real lyrics— “I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, there’s no rest, there’s no peace”—which leads into frontman JONNY HAWKINS’ fervently belting out its chorus, “You don’t know what love means, and it’s killing me.” Watch the official video and stream/download “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS” here: https://nothingmore.ffm.to/youdontknowwhatlovemeans.

“We’re glad this song is finally getting out there so we can dig into the emotional and intimate side of the album,” says Hawkins. “The lyrics and tone of this one feels like it hits in a similar way that ‘Go To War’ and ‘Jenny’ did. It’s going to feel huge playing this next one on tour.”

YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS” follows previously released album tracks “SPIRITS” and “TURN IT UP LIKE.” The lead-off track “TIRED OF WINNING” is currently #6 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart, and the extended version, “TIRED OF WINNING / SHIPS IN THE NIGHT, is also included on THE RETALIATIORS ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK for Better Noise Film’s upcoming horror-thriller THE RETALIATORS. Pre-order tickets for the movie and the soundtrack featuring Nothing More at http://www.retaliatorsmovie.com

SPIRITS combines NOTHING MORE’s unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. Its eleven tracks were co-written by all band members–Hawkins [vocals], Mark Vollelunga [guitar], Daniel Oliver [bass], and Ben Anderson [drums]–and their longtime manager and co-producer Will Hoffman. The album documents the tumultuous time the world experienced over the past two years capturing the desperation and isolation of lockdown, the spiral of substance abuse, the pain of broken relationships, and survival in self-reliance while summarizing the overall story and mission of NOTHING MORE: Reflect, Provoke, Inspire. Pre-order SPIRITS now at: https://nothingmore.ffm.to/spirits.

The band has further embellished the SPIRITS concept with their self-designed meta-personality test, “SPIRITS TEST,” and their first-ever graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” (Z2 Comics), which introduces the “SPIRIT TYPES,” which stem from the results of taking the “SPIRITS TEST” as the four main characters in the graphic novel. Find out your SPIRIT TYPE by taking the SPIRITS TEST at https://spiritstest.com/. Pre-order “SPIRITS VOL. 1” (due in Spring 2023) to find out more about your SPIRIT TYPE and the album’s story here: z2comics.com/nothingmore.

NOTHING MORE will bring their mesmerizing live performance—including their crowd favorite “Scorpion Tail” (a 400-pound, 14-foot MIDI controller constructed out of salvaged metal scraps by bassist Daniel Oliver that allows Hawkins to control the music while delivering his theatrical stage presence)—to audiences across the U.S. later this month as they kick off a three-month tour in direct support of In This Moment from 8/26 to 10/23. During the run, NOTHING MORE will branch off for a handful of headlining shows with support from British rockers Sleep Token and rock & roll burlesque dance troupe Cherry Bombs, in addition to dropping in at a few of rock’s biggest festivals, including Louder Than Life, Rocklahoma, Aftershock and Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Tickets are on sale now as well as VIP upgrades at https://nothingmore.net.

Forever May Fall Premieres “Undertow”

Forever May Fall shares,Undertow is about the physical disconnection of society, while remaining constantly connected via a virtual reality. With the loss of traditional contact and communication, we’re easily influenced by the next bandwagon thought, what is relevant, what is popular. Addicted to likes and follows and numbers, yet still feeling empty as we lack traditional value.”

Forever May Fall is a four-piece rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina founded in 2017 by vocalist & songwriter Jillyan “Fox” Brennan. With one album down, a lineup change, and a global pandemic abruptly halting momentum, the band has come back swinging with their hiatus breaking single “Aftermath” released in February of 2022. Rebranding and blending the sounds of influences such as Evanescence, Halestorm, Bad Omens, Spiritbox, Underoath, and many more, Forever May Fall hopes to break the molds of any one genre. Working with producers such as Joshua Landry (LØ Spirit, Motionless in White, Funeral Portrait), Kile Odell, (Nita Strauss, Motionless in White, Fozzy) and Wes Lauterbach (Lowborn) has made that possible. “No two songs sound exactly alike. We have our sound on it for sure, but everyone we’ve been blessed to work with has added their own bit of finesse to each track. To me, that makes each release more exciting,” says Jillyan. “This is our rebirth” – a word that has stuck with guitarist & songwriter, Colt Crevar since his addition to the band in late 2020. “Rebirth, rebranding, we’re getting back out there and we’re doing it in a big way.”

Forever May Fall:

Colt Crevar, guitar

AVANTASIA mastermind Tobias Sammet comments:  “There are still some special voices and artists left that I wanted to work with; one of them being NIGHTWISH singer and frontwoman, Floor Jansen. ‘Misplaced Among The Angels’ was already finished when I asked Floor to contribute to the song. She said she could imagine singing it, although she wasn’t 100% sure at the beginning of the lower range passages would suit her rather higher range singing style. But without further ado, she gave it a shot and she delivered unbelievably. I personally think that ‘Misplaced Among The Angels’, complete with Floor’s strong voice, is one of the best ballads of my entire career“.

WHEN WE WERE HUNGRY FESTIVAL Announces Lineup For Inaugural Event In Las Vegas on October 20 & 21

Feat. Headliners Black Flag, Madball, Secondhand Serenade & Every Avenue

What started as a meme created by Modern Day Escape bassist and songwriter William Wenz about hosting a festival in a Denny’s parking lot turned to reality as he created the WHEN WE WERE HUNGRY FESTIVAL alongside co-founder/director and artist manager Mal Levy

The inaugural event will take place in Las Vegas, NV on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21 at the 3,000-capacity venue Rockstar Bar – Concert On The Green. The festival will highlight independent-focused acts that represent a who’s-who of the past and present rock, metal, punk and emo scene. The 2022 lineup will include headlining performances from punk rock icons Black Flag, legendary NY hardcore group Madball, emo rockers Secondhand Serenade and pop punk band Every Avenue plus more than 50 bands across two outdoor stages and one indoor stage over both days.

Following each day of the festival, there will be an official afterparty indoors in collaboration with Come As You Are Events with guest DJ sets and surprise performances from musicians including Social OrderChris Donothon (The Medic Droid), Alesana and Michael Vampire (Vampires Everywhere). The afterparties will be 21+ only and ticketed separately from the festival, $25 for a single night pass or $40 for both nights. Purchase admission for either and/or both nights HERE

“Through the power of the internet, what started only as a humble meme has blossomed into such a beautiful lineup of artists both big and small,” says WENZ. “Defying even our own expectations, it has been a joy for us and the fans to watch the When We Were Hungry festival grow into a delicious piece of history!”

LEVY adds, “This festival is all about bringing people together–merging amazing legacy acts with the next generation. We quite literally went from a meme to a dream, and now an epic reality that is When We Were Hungry. This is our gift to you!”

“We are excited to be returning to Las Vegas to play the When We Were Hungry Festival at Rockstar Bar with Unwritten Law, The Dickies and so many more,” says MIKE VALLELY, vocalist of Black Flag. “We’ll be kicking off our 2022-2023 tour at this show, and I couldn’t think of a better way to get things started.”

Every Avenue lead vocalist and pianist David Strauchman commented, “It’s an honor to be invited to play the When We Were Hungry Fest and share the stage with so many amazing artists. Every Avenue hasn’t played a show on the West Coast since 2012, so needless to say I’m stoked to be asked to play these songs a decade later. The WWWH team has done an awesome job of bringing together a wildly diverse lineup that the fans are going to love. Can’t wait! It’s going to rock!”

HELLOGOODBYE vocalist Forrest Kline “When We Were Hungry has brought together a truly insane and sweeping lineup, including the first full band hellogoodbye set in Vegas in years. Cannot wait to let loose with y’all!”

“Looking at this killer line up, we’re not only craving to play in Vegas for the first time in over a decade, but also salivating at the thought of sharing the stage with all these amazing bands,” adds the Las Vegas-based pop rock band THE HIGHER’s guitarist Reggie Ragan. “It’s a feast fit for Vegas.”
