Lorna Shore drops new video for “Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer”

Hot off their North American trek supporting Mastodon and Gojira, Lorna Shore is now giving fans a new video for “Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer” – the opening track from 2022’s groundbreaking Pain Remains. Directed/edited by Eric Richter (www.EricRichterFilms.com) and produced by Paul Henon//Midvessel, watch “Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer” here: https://lornashorestore.com/

Adam De Micco (guitar) comments: “‘Welcome Back O’ Sleeping Dreamer’ is a song that we feel deserves as much of the light as any other song on ‘Pain Remains’. It was a pivotal song in the writing process – it was the song to get the momentum going for the rest of the record. It was the song that we had the most enjoyment writing and I think to this day is probably one of our favorite songs on the record. It’s as dark as it is light and it’s as intense while not being overbearing. It has become the closest thing to balance as far as our songs are concerned. It is also a song that encapsulates a lot of who we are as a band while being unique from the rest of the songs on ‘Pain Remains’.

“Working with Eric was something that we have been wanting to do for some time now. He has always been someone we would reference or were inspired by so it only made sense to do a video with him. It was also a unique experience for us this time because we were in the trenches with him making decisions on everything regarding the video. As an artist you want to see your vision come to light and working with Eric this way, we were able to bring that vision forward.”

To coincide with this video launch, new “Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer”-themed merch, two exclusive Halloween designs and more are also available now at: https://lornashorestore.com/

Lorna Shore will be returning to Europe this November/December for a headlining tour, featuring Rivers of Nihil, Ingested, and Distant as support. See below for all dates; tickets can be purchased at: https://lnk.to/THEPAINREMAINS-EUROPE23

Distant has become one of the prominent faces of European Deathcore. Melding together brutal death metal, slam, noise and beatdown with a hyper-dissonant orchestra of impending doom, they’ve come eons since their origins as metalcore obsessed friends in Rotterdam and Bratislava. Heritage, the quintet’s Century Media debut and third installment of bone crushing, thick-as-concrete heaviness, takes their trademark “Downtempo/Deathcore” and pushes it into the red. “It’s low and slow,” smirks vocalist Alan Grnja, describing the band’s sound. “Musically, lyrically, we try to travel the uncharted and come up with something you can only call Distant.

Produced by the band’s guitarist Nouri Yetgin and Within Destruction guitarist Howard Fang plus co-producer Simone Pietroforte, Heritage is Distant‘s coming of age and reckoning moment. “This is the perfect Distant record,” says Alan. “I want it to be a genre-defining album in the same way ‘The Cleansing’ was for Suicide Silence – I would say this album is for us.”

LORNA SHORE Releases New Song “Sun // Eater”

For LORNA SHORE, 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet, 2020 signaled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, “To the Hellfire” from their hugely well-regarded EP …And I Return to Nothingness. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, Pain Remains, that not only aligns with everything LORNA SHORE has hinted at but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “It feels like a rebirth of everything for us – the energy, the band, the morale,” says drummer Austin Archey.

Today marks the release of the band’s new single and first release off Pain Remains “Sun // Eater”. While the band has been performing the song live on the current “Chaos & Carnage Tour” it premiered on Jose Mangin’s Sirius/XM Liquid Metal.

LORNA SHORE shot the video clip with Loki Films at the end of their sold out UK tour in March. Will Ramos (vocals) states about the song, “We’re so happy so be able to put out something different and new that further exemplifies who we’ve become as individuals and as a whole. This song/album really brings together everything that we’ve been working towards being and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all.”

LORNA SHORE are currently touring the U.S. with SUICIDE SILENCE, Carnifex, Upon A Burning Body, AngelMaker and Distant on the “Chaos & Carnage Tour” before playing Lollapalooza in Chicago in July. Prior to touring Europe with Parkway Drive and While She Sleeps, they will be playing a handful of European summer festivals, as well as selected shows with As I Lay Dying and co-headline summer dates with Tesseract.
