GRAMMY Award-nominated and multi-platinum selling rock band Fall Out Boy is wrapping up So Much For (2our) Dust Tour with Jimmy Eat World on all dates as special guests and The Maine, Hot Mulligan, Daisy Grenade, Games We Play and CARR joining the tour on select shows throughout the run. On March 22nd tour made a stop at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.

HOT MULLIGAN a four piece band from Lansing Michigan took the arena by storm opening for FALL OUT BOY on their “SO MUCH (2TOUR) DUST” tour on March 22nd. Their sound giving a perfect early 2000s rock vibe fitting perfectly with the other bands of the lineup. On vocals you have Nathan Sanville, blending his clean and fried vocals perfectly. On rhythm guitar there’s Chris Freeman who also co leads on vocals blending perfectly with Nathan. Leading on guitar through amazing, crisp solos and riffs there’s Ryan Malisci, who electrified the crowd with his talent with the others. On bass further bringing the band together to their amazing sound you have Jonah Kramer. And last but not least you have drums, played by the one and only Brandon Blakeley finishing off the Hot Mulligan sound.
As a first time listener of Hot Mulligan at this performance, I was impressed by them, their sound and overall performance. Hearing them and seeing their talent I can definitely see why Fall Out Boy chose them to open for them on this tour and at this show.
JIMMY EAT WORLD coming from Mesa Arizona as direct support for FALL OUT BOY, was an interesting new listen for me. I grew up listening to their hit “The Middle” but never truly ventured into listening to them further, but seeing them live has changed that for me. Their songs are upbeat and fully encapsulating the early early 90s to 2000s rock scene. Their career started before I was born and they were introduced to me by family members that liked them. I really enjoyed their set and sound and how they can capture the crowds attention and keep it and how humble and thankful they were to have the opportunity to open for Fall Out Boy at Madison Square Garden.

Jimmy Eat World are celebrating three decades and 10 albums of existence in 2024. The Mesa, AZ, quartet’s commercial breakthrough came with the release of several singles from their album Bleed American, with “The Middle” hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and peaking at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it spent 33 weeks total and became RIAA-certified platinum. FALL OUT BOY a male four piece band that headlined their own “SO MUCH FOR (2TOUR) DUST” tour on Friday March 22nd at Madison Square Garden was a perfect show, something that doesn’t happen with artists often. Their setlist was a perfect blend of old songs and new ones. Their setlist was a great example of all of their best work from their 20+ year discography. Fall out boy are based out of Wilmette Illinois and is lead by Patrick Stump with his amazing vocals and lyrics, guitar and often piano playing. Playing the guitar with iconic riffs and backup vocals you have Joe Truman. Playing the bass, accompanied with vocal fries and screams, and beautiful speeches at times you have Pete Wentz. Last but not least playing the drums, bringing fall out boy to their iconic sound you have Andy Hurley.
During the performance they had guests William Beckett, and Daisy Grenade come out which was a great surprise as well. Their stage production was the best I’ve seen from them, having seen them twice before. They had a giant dog head like the dogs from the So Much For Stardust album cover moving on stage, accompanied with its glowing eyes, that members like Pete and Patrick interacted with at times. Pete even going as far as putting his head in its mouth as he sang parts of songs.
I discovered Fall Out Boy as a kid and grew up listening to them. Fall Out Boy on their American Beauty/American Psycho tour was my first concert. so going from that to this, with a production, team and a dream setlist like the one they played was amazing, as a long time listener and fan of theirs.

Fall Out Boy have cemented their position as one of rock music’s biggest-selling bands. Their eighth studio album So Much (For) Stardust debuted as the No. 1 Rock Album upon its March 24, 2023 release on Fueled By Ramen/Elektra/DCD2 Records.
