British sensation RAYE has earned three nominations at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, announced today by the Recording Academy. The “Escapism.” hitmaker is up for the prestigious Best New Artist award, where she’ll compete against rising stars like Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Shaboozey. In addition, RAYE has earned a nomination for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, recognizing her work with top artists including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Halle, and Lucky Daye. With these two nods, RAYE makes history as the first artist to be nominated in both categories, further solidifying her reputation as one of the industry’s most exciting talents. She also earns a nod for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for her contributions to Lucky Daye’s Algorithm.

This milestone caps an extraordinary year for RAYE, who earlier in 2024 dominated Britain’s biggest night in music, taking home an unprecedented six BRIT Awards in a single evening for her critically acclaimed debut album My 21st Century Blues. Among her historic triumphs, the independent artist also became the first female to be awarded the Songwriter of the Year honor, further cementing her place as a trailblazer in the music industry.

After two years of headlining sold-out shows across the globe—including stadium tours with SZA, Kali Uchis, and Lewis Capaldi—RAYE captivated audiences at major stages this summer, performing at iconic festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Montreux Jazz Festival. She also performed for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium. In addition, RAYE delivered standout TV performances on Saturday Night Live, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Daily Show, and the American Music Awards: 50th Anniversary Special.

The momentum continued throughout 2024, with RAYE contributing to Beyoncé’s groundbreaking COWBOY CARTER album (“RIIVERDANCE”), earning a spot on TIME Magazine’s prestigious “Next Generation Leaders” list, and securing nominations at the 2024 BET Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and MTV EMAs. Next month (December 7, 2024), she will be honored with the Triple Threat Award at Variety‘s eighth annual Hitmakers celebration, joining fellow honorees Charli xcx, Jelly Roll, and Quavo, in recognition of her outspoken advocacy for the songwriting community.

The 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025

About RAYE

British singer-songwriter RAYE has solidified herself as one of the brightest stars in music today, selling millions of records, boasting eight Top 20 UK singles, six billion Spotify streams, and an impressive catalog of hits penned for such top artists as Beyoncé and Charli xcx. The BRIT School alum’s independently-released debut album, My 21st Century Blues, drew universal acclaim and featured the worldwide smash “Escapism.”, earning RAYE her first UK No. 1 and entry on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 22). The 070 Shake-assisted track also topped the charts in Ireland and Denmark, entered the Top 10 in over 20 countries, and has since been certified 2x Platinum in the US as well as Gold, Platinum, or higher in over 12 regions.

In September 2023, RAYE’s star power was further cemented at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall where she performed My 21st Century Symphony, a special one-night-only show featuring reimagined symphonic arrangements of songs from her debut album. Joined by The Heritage Orchestra (conducted by Tom Richards), youth gospel choir Flames Collective, and organist Anna Lapwood, critics praised RAYE as “the most talented artist since Adele and Amy Winehouse” (The Telegraph). The evening was memorialized through a live recording, and a concert film that saw a limited theatrical release across cinemas worldwide.

RAYE’s latest Top 40 hit, “Genesis.”, is a three act opus and a masterclass in disrupting music as we know it. Produced alongside multiple GRAMMY Award winner Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, SZA), RAYE elevates her emotionally raw and vulnerable lyrics with triumphant strings and horns, dulcet harmonies and emboldened snare, into a pitch perfect performance that is a divine battle cry. “Genesis.” is a confrontational acknowledgement of a chapter not yet closed but with a set intention for a new beginning, drawing inspirations from big band, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, gospel and contemporary pop. Out of darkness comes light and with this new chapter, a musical renaissance is on the horizon.
