LA based music artist Emily Zuzik has just released “Love’s About Taking The Fall” single and the companion video from her forthcoming new EP Age + Alchemy that’s getting released this coming May. This is the first significant new release since her 2020 release Torch & Trouble. Emily is an artist whose style is what I’d call Laurel Canyon adjacent, the classic California sound that hints of the likes of Karla Bonoff, Linda Ronstadt, Sheryl Crow often infused with the edginess of Liz Phair or Chrissie Hynde.

The forthcoming collection of songs was born during the isolated times of COVID. Suddenly having free time coupled with a case of cabin fever Emily reached deep for this latest collection. The songs have a definite mood to them and are catchy from the onset. Joining Emily in this creative endeavor are a cast of characters with some impressive credentials:

Ted Russell Kamp, bass and producer (Tanya Tucker, Wilson Phillips, Shooter Jennings and more)

Brian Whelan, electric guitar whose work includes playing with Dwight Yoakum

Chris Allis, drums (Peter Asher, Michael Nesmith, various film and TV scores)
