I had the privilege of being asked to capture photos this past Saturday March 22, 2025 at Women Rock LA. The show was held at Daddy Diamond’s in Hollywood, California. The all female fronted bands were insanely brilliant musicians. There were a total of five bands, as well as a magic show, and a burlesque show in between two of the bands. Bre and Jules the co-founders of Women Rock LA, are very hardworking women, and they made sure the whole night ran as smoothly as possible.

My fellow contributor Don Adkins has written an incredible live review of the show, while I focus on the headlining band called Bruvvy.  Originally from Florida, they just recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue their music dreams. Originally formed in 2019, the rock band consists of

Liz Varnum-lead singer, guitarist

Paula Bunich- Bassist

Nelson Gonzalez- Guitarist

Juan Cabrera- Drummer

They really brought the entire audience completely entranced in their entire set, all originally written songs. Their unique ska sound with a twist of alternative, like a combination of No Doubt with a hint of Garbage, I completely loved their 1990s vibe sound. The lead singer Liz definitely was born to be on stage, her passion is remarkable. I completely loved the whole band’s energy that they were headlining Women Rock LA.

While Liz completely tore up the stage, the rest of the band definitely fed off her energy as well as the everyone who attended, the crowd at one point started a mini mosh pit directly behind the photo pit. They are a band I plan to see again, and again. I got to talk to Nelson before the show, and talked a little bit about the band’s history. He told me that they haven’t been out in California very long, but from what I saw at the show, they seem to have a huge fan base already. I can’t wait to see the growth of their entire journey. I have a feeling in a year they will be opening for bigger musicians.
