Alt-rock powerhouses Nova Twins return with feral new single “Piranha”, taken from their hotly anticipated third album, Parasites & Butterflies, out August 29th via Marshall Records. Following recent singles “Monsters” and “Soprano”, the track dives into murkier waters. Anchored by snarling bass, razor-sharp riffs, and fiercely charged vocals, “Piranha” channels unrest and unease, capturing the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the world around us.

“This track explores growing tensions around the world, which can feel overwhelming at times, leaving you unsure of where to start,” the band shares. “It delves into themes of confrontation, rebellion, and fear. Using imagery of predatory waters, it symbolises vulnerability, power, and questioning authority. It also reflects society’s cutthroat nature, but emphasises coming together and supporting each other. There is strength in unity.”

With “Piranha”, Nova Twins continue to carve their path, unafraid to challenge, question, and provoke. The track offers a powerful glimpse of what’s still to come on Parasites & Butterflies, an album that promises to bridge chaos and beauty, strength and vulnerability. With nods to the raw, chaotic style of The Blair Witch Project, the video captures the ominous, predatory nature at the heart of “Piranha”. Watch the song’s defiant, eerie music video HERE.

The album was recorded in Vermont, USA, with legendary producer Rich Costey (Foo FightersMuseDeftonesSam Fender). From front to back, it’s a genre-shattering statement of intent, balancing dancefloor detonators with moments of raw introspection. Full of contrast and scale, it reveals Nova Twins at their most expansive.

Nova Twins have also announced a UK & EU headline tour for September through October 2025, which will follow a packed summer of 19 festival appearances, including Vans Warped Tour 30th Anniversary in Long Beach, CA on July 26, another return to Glastonbury, and support slots with Lenny Kravitz and Biffy Clyro. Their UK & EU tour kicks off in the Netherlands on September 17th and concludes in London at the O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 18th, their biggest hometown headline show to date. Since bursting out of the independent UK scene, the Mercury Music Prize and two-time BRIT Award nominees have rewritten the rulebook of what a modern rock band can achieve. They’ve dominated iconic festivals from Glastonbury to Summer Sonic, shared stages with legends like Foo Fighters, Muse, and Bring Me The Horizon, and drawn praise from global icons like Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, who calls them “an incredible band,” and Elton John, who describes them as “phenomenal.”

The duo’s acclaim spans both their music and their cultural impact. They’ve graced the covers of Kerrang!, NME, UPSET, Alternative Press, and Rock Sound, and won prestigious awards at the Music Week Women in Music Awards, AIM Awards, Kerrang! Awards, and the Nordoff & Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards. In 2022, their Mercury Music Prize nomination marked a historic milestone as the first Black rock band to be shortlisted.

Beyond music, Nova Twins’ Voices For The Unheard initiative amplifies underrepresented artists in the alternative sphere while supporting vital causes like The Black Curriculum. They also spearheaded the introduction of the Alternative category at the MOBO Awards in 2022 and established a Creative Musicianship Scholarship at ICMP to champion future generations of diverse talent.

With Parasites & Butterflies, Nova Twins continue their meteoric rise, inviting fans to embark on a bold new chapter.
