If there are three words to describe PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX, those words would be PHABULOUS, PHANTASTIC, and PINKTABULOUS ! Are you listening Websters and Oxford Dictionary? Will you be adding these 3 new English words in today’s generation of English language? Please credit me and I need royalties too. Anyway , I digress. Back to PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX. I have had the pleasure of shooting and covering a PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX show several times now since their 2nd show in December of 2022 at The CANYON CLUB IN AGOURA HILLS ever since I became friends with the guitarist in the summer of 2022 whom I have dubbed in the industry as “The Flying Shredding Penguin or just The Flying Penguin” because she loves penguins; she jumps up so high on stage all the time as if she’s a jumping jack jellybean who soars high like a flying penguin (though we all know penguins don’t fly); and she is the axe shredder for the band.

I have seen the line up change several times now and this new line up is as great as the old line up.

The band currently consists of the following amazing artists:
Kitten Kay Sera – Founder and lead vocalist and The True Pink Queen
Celinda Chang – Guitar extraordinaire, aka The Flying Shredding Penguin or just The Flying Penguin
Riana Hisako – Master Keyboard/Keytarist
Melanie Jo – Beat Pounding Drummer
Meredith McMullen – Badass Bassist
Together they are PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX, The Pinkest Band in The World.

On this Friday night in West Hollywood, CA at The World Famous Whisky A Go Go, May 30, 2025 they played as the last support act just before the headliner, Missing Persons, a band who made their name during the golden years of New Wave music in the 80’s.

PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX delivered another strong performance as always, but this time around they garnered around 11 or 12 media and social media photographers (both pros and non-pros) that I counted in the non-existent photo pit of the venue (one must try to come in early to secure a good spot in the front). And most of the photographers on that night were there to cover PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX since most of them are my friends and colleagues. To be able to garner that many photographers for a band that has only been around playing locally in the greater Los Angeles area at a historic venue for a couple of years since November/ December 2022 is a great feat in itself. Even the Original Guns and Roses photographer, Jack Lue, was there just for PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX. That alone says a lot.

The band’s performance is always extremely fun to watch. Lots of actions and original music along with some cover songs. They are visually exciting on stage with 5 beautiful ladies all in pink outfits with pink venue lighting to accentuate their PINKNESS and GREATNESS. Ther music is catchy, think of The Go Go’s type of fun and catchy music. Pom Pom gifts get thrown around to the audience for participation to make them feel as if they too are with the band. In the past, candies were thrown, fake dollar bills with the band printed on the bill and their logo, and other things were thrown to the audience. This type of interaction makes it extremely memorable for the audience and the fans. And they are always trying something new when it comes to gifts and their performance. No two are alike since seeing them perform live on stage. What will they come up with next time. Overall there is nothing bad that can be said about PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX. It’s just good ol’ fashioned fun to experience.

S, “For a good time, call” PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX. And if PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX ever come around in your city and you and your “Girls Just Wanna Fun” and Boys too, check them out. You’ll be glad you did and you will be smiling for days.
