With this release, Laura Cox reveals a quieter, more introspective side of her songwriting.

Built on a hypnotic, blues-tinged groove, “Trouble Coming” is a cinematic slow-burn that captures the feeling of invisible tension — when the air changes before the storm arrives.

The track was inspired by a solitary journey through the misty landscapes of Scotland, and its atmosphere is mirrored in the accompanying one-shot music video, which is visually striking in its simplicity and emotional focus.

“‘Trouble Coming’ evokes the omnipresent threats around us, often imperceptible when we stay on the surface,” Cox says.

It follows “No Need to Try Harder.”

From viral guitarist to European festival mainstay, Laura Cox has built a powerful independent career, with over 513K YouTube subscribers and more than 105 million views.

Following her acclaimed 2023 album Head Above Water, this new release continues her evolution as both a songwriter and storyteller.
