Måneskin frontman Damiano David is out on tour in support of his new solo release “Funny Little Fears”. This last week Damiano dropped into the Grammy Museum Rooftop Deck stage for an interview, Q&A and performance. Normally you’ll see Damiano playing larger theaters and arenas so an intimate show in the 500 seat Grammy venue was extra special and sold-out really quick.

The interview was quite enlightening as LA Times music critic Mikael Wood came well prepared with anything and everything Damiano and was able to get us a really candid and insightful view into Damianos’ life. His group Måneskin enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity from their inception in 2016. This has of course propelled the group into the fast-paced world of creating music, touring, then creating more music and touring and so on in the never-ending cycle of the music industry. Damiano was very candid in saying he has enjoyed it all, performing and the fame but at the same time feels like he never had the chance to grow up which he states as something he sees that he really missed since growing up and developing took a halt at age 16. With Måneskin coming off a really big tour last year he was finally able to take a break from it all and work on his own personal development, get into a relationship (with partner Dove Cameron) and now move into his new residence in Los Angeles. This includes moving to Reaching deep into his feelings, capturing it in words and putting it into music resulted in this collection of music. He also interestingly pointed out how he’s swimming in the arena of pop that is largely female dominated. He pointed out how this is a good thing, women having their turn but also highlighted how this needs to extend into the people running the music business as well — very thoughtful in this statement.  When asked what does he hope for in 2026 Damiano’s instant answer was “vacation!”.

All-in-all the interview was spot-on, then Damiano performed a short set of music from the new solo album with his band that was pretty darn perfect. This performance gave the band the opportunity to do a warm-up leading to their appearance at Lalapalooza a few days later. He and the band will spend the rest of the year tour North America and the world and many of the shows are already sold out.

Here’s a selection of images from the interview and concert.
