Slaughter To Prevail is a deathcore band hailing from Russia. They left the country shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine, as the band vocalist Alex Terrible condemned the war and the band wrote anti government and war song 1984. While they don’t consider move to the US permanent, the band is having a success stateside. They recently released a new album Grizzly and have collaborated with such acts like Babymetal and Falling In Reverse.

Their performance was nothing short of insane explosion of brutal deathcore. Massively aggressive sound kept rolling from the stage to the delight to many fans. I heard a lot of Russian speaking fans in attendance who made their way from all over the tri-state area to see a bit of their homeland.

Bands setlist for this night included – Bonebreaker, Baba Yaga, Banditos, Viking, Russian Grizzly in America, Behelit and Demolisher.

When we speak about Ronnie Radke, his reputation enters the room a few days before him. There are official events as well as stories and general chatter that precedes his name anywhere he goes. I am not an ignorant person, and things he has done in his life does not sit well with me. Besides, he is not the one who shy away from the controversy but rather embraces it as a way to prove himself. However, yes however – setting aside Ronnie as a person and instead looking to him as a musician it is simply impossible to argue that he is one of the most talented of his generation.

His band Falling In Reverse that was formed back in 2008, has Ronnie as a lone founding member. Other longtime band member and founder Derek Jones died in 2020. Otherwise band has gone through numerous lineup changes.

Performance was nothing short of excellent. Outstanding stage set up with multiple flame throwers that you could grill steaks for everyone in the attendance, with giant back screen illuminating related imagery with excerpts from music videos. It came handy during God Is A Weapon when Marylin Manson part was sang by Manson himself via music video footage. It seems to me better alternative than some bands singing themselves the guest vocal parts. Ronnie as always stood out with his aggressiveness and poise during the performance.

Falling In Reverse setlist for this performance included these songs – Prequel, Zombified, God Is a Weapon, Trigger Warning, I’m Not a Vampire, Fuck You and All Your Friends, Bad Guy, The Drug in Me Is You, Just Like You, All My Women, All My Life, NO FEAR, Popular Monster, Voices in My Head, Ronald and Watch the World Burn.
