Orlando’s metalcore band Dark Divine drops their surprise new single “Midnight Masquerade” on Friday, February 27th via Thriller Records. The release follows the band’s album announcement and pre-order launch for Undead Melody at 12PM ET on February 24th, ahead of its release on May 29th.
Vocalist Anthony Martinez shares the idea behind the song:
“‘Midnight Masquerade’ came about in a very interesting way. While on tour, I was listening to a podcast about elite, secret society parties and their cult-like activities. The idea of desperation to be somebody resulting in one casting aside their humanity and morality was such a disturbing concept to me that it stuck in my head until it came time to hit the studio. On that drive I had also drawn many parallels between concepts of these secret society parties with the lyrics of my favorite song of all time, ‘Hotel California.’ Many people believe that song to be about drugs, but I now believe that song could have been written in a much more literal sense. ‘Midnight Masquerade’ is essentially my homage to ‘Hotel California’ through the lens of secret, elite, ‘Eyes Wide Shut’-esque gatherings.”

“Midnight Masquerade” centers on the idea of anonymity as both freedom and trap. People can easily slip into versions of themselves built to impress, survive, or belong, especially in spaces where identity can be hidden and accountability fades. Driven by a heavier sound throughout and anchored by a melodic chorus, the track reflects on the cost of that escape and how losing yourself in the mask can make it harder to recognize what was left behind.

ABOUT DARK DIVINE
In the shadows of Orlando’s music scene, Dark Divine has emerged as something far more deliberate than just another metalcore band. Fronted by Anthony Martinez’s haunting vocals, Robby Lynch’s sinister guitar work, Cory Scissorhands thunderous bass lines, and Triston Blaize’s relentless drumming, the band weaves melody and menace into something uniquely their own. It’s brutal, it’s beautiful, and it lingers long after the first note.
The band gained widespread recognition with their breakthrough track “Halloweentown,” earning spins on SiriusXM Octane and landing on major playlists across Spotify and Apple Music. Press outlets quickly took notice, with praise from idobi Radio, Outburn Magazine, and New Noise Magazine, the latter declaring that Dark Divine was “playing all the right cards.” That eerie foundation has continued to evolve through “Halloweentown II: Welcome Home,” expanding on the dark narrative that has become a defining thread of the band’s identity.
Dark Divine’s vision fully comes alive onstage. From their spine tingling set at Inkcarceration Festival 2024 to tours alongside Black Veil Brides, Ville Valo, Holding Absence, Crown The Empire, Blessthefall, Miss May I, and Colorblind, the band has built a reputation for engaging and immersive live performances. Along the way, they have shared stages with Ice Nine Kills, appeared on the Summer of Loud tour, and delivered a standout performance at Apocalypse Fest alongside Motionless In White. That momentum now carries into their upcoming US headliner, The Shallow Graves Tour, where their growing fanbase known as the Reapers continues to show up in force.
As 2026 unfolds, Dark Divine enters a new chapter with the announcement of their forthcoming album Undead Melody. The record expands on the band’s signature sound, pairing sharper hooks with deeper emotional weight and a broader sonic approach. With new music leading the charge and more to be revealed in the months ahead, Dark Divine continues to build momentum and carve out a world that feels both immersive and unmistakably their own.
