To close their European leg of their 15-year anniversary tour, Against The Current returned to Paris for an intimate show at La Maroquinerie. Coming after dates in London, Amsterdam and Cologne, Chrissy Costanza (vocalist), Dan Gow (guitarist) and Will Ferri (drummer) are now headed to the United States for 2 concerts in New York and Los Angeles.

With a capacity of roughly 500 people, the venue creates a close connection between the band and fans. While they could’ve chosen a larger venue for this sold-out show, Against The Current decided to return to La Maroquinerie for all the memories they’ve made here over the years, turning the anniversary celebration into a personal moment rather than a large-scale spectacle.
The show featured songs from across their career, celebrating their journey with long-time fans. The setlist included some fan favorites such as: Gravity, blindfolded, Whole Fire, again&again and, of course, Legends Never Die. Thanks to continuous fans’ requests over time, we even got treated with Outsiders! By mixing some early songs with newer releases, the band highlighted how they and their sound have evolved over the years.
Because the tour intentionally focused on smaller venues, the show felt closer than ever to Against The Current’s early days. According to Chrissy, the goal was to perform in the “kinds of rooms [they] had some of those first surreal moments in, reliving it with the fans who were there and the ones who may have found [them] later.” And I would say the goal was successfully achieved.
At La Maroquinerie, this intimate setting translated into a highly engaged crowd with fans singing along loudly, jumping like crazy and reacting to every song with intensity creating a warm atmosphere full of love. Throughout the night Chrissy kept joking about getting older on tour which makes it “one, harder to remember the setlist; and two, it also gets harder to read it”, which had everyone laughing together.
A fan project during Gravity saw fans turning on their lights and raising an anniversary banner which got a “You’re gonna make me cry, I’m a big softie now” from Chrissy.
As the last European date, the Paris show had a special sense of closure. After fifteen years as a band, Against The Current really used these concerts not only to celebrate their past, but also to reconnect with the fans that helped shape their journey and changed the course of their lives.
Chrissy ended her final stage banter by announcing they would be back later this year and that, by this time, a new song would’ve come up, and probably even a whole new album as well, to the cheers of the fans.
At the end of the night, the audience slowly left the venue with their head full of wonderful memories of that night.
