Zachary Baker, known to fans worldwide as Zacky Vengeance, guitarist and founding member of multi-platinum rock band Avenged Sevenfold, is thrilled to unleash his debut solo album, Dark Horse. Ahead of the release, Baker shared potent and heartfelt singles “Lighthouse,” as well as the title track, “Dark Horse” which garnered praise from outlets like Taste of Country, who says Dark Horse is “the real deal…music that speaks from the heart.” And Consequence adds “slip this into rotation on mainstream country radio and nobody would bat an eye.”
With Dark Horse, Baker trades distortion for dust and grit, while simultaneously carving out his own lane in the alt-country/outlaw landscape. “The beauty is in the imperfections,” solemnly proclaims Baker, the unlikely storyteller. Driven by his restless spirit and the outlaw heroes that inspired him, listeners will find a raw sermon of honesty. Dark Horse blends poignant storytelling with Americana influences, signaling a striking evolution from his hard rock background into a songwriter stepping fully into his own.
