With Tribal Gaze, Biohazard and Exodus on April 29th, 2026 at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ

Legendary metal band Sepultura from Brazil just kicked off their final North American tour before their deserved retirement. The first show of this epic farewell tour happened in New Jersey at The Wellmont Theatre. On this tour Sepultura are accompanied by other legendary band – hardcore legends Biohazard, thrash metal legends Exodus and Tribal Gaze.

While the show was not marked as sold out, I must say that the fans buying tickets at the door must have pushed this show to officially sold out status. I did miss the first band. Right after the heavyweights took over.

This will be very subjective story. I like all bands. The one that stands out in my hierarchy are Biohazard. Hard hitting, unapologetic and totally raw. They blew my mind back in 92 and 94 and have been on my regular playlist since. Their set was a true hit parade with heavyweights from Urban Discipline and State Of The World Address took the stage by the storm. My all time fave Tales From The Hard Side and Punishment put the fans in frenzy.

Biohazard setlist – Urban Discipline, Shades of Grey, Fuck the System, Wrong Side of the Tracks, Tales From the Hard Side, Forsaken and Punishment.

Thrash metal is a special kind of an animal. Once a prominent staple in metal world, it produced vast amount of giant bands. Exodus is one of them. Hailing from thrash metal hotbed of California they are proudly carrying the flag. Their set was everything you would expect – aggressive, explosive and masculine, to the point of a small quarrel between a fan and Exodus singer Rob Dukes. Songs kept on rolling like a ten ton rock barreling down the hill, with the steady stream of crowd surfers and one killer of a circle pit. Hey, it has been long a debate whether Exodus belong in Thrash metal Big Four, how about let’s just make it a Big Five, as Exodus is truly worthy of accolades.

Exodus setlist – 3111, Bonded by Blood, Deathamphetamine, Blacklist, Goliath, A Lesson in Violence, The Toxic Waltz and Strike of the Beast.

Sepultura is and will be credited as a influential band in many subgenres of metal – death metal, groove metal and thrash metal. For me it was a 1996 Roots album that was the first giant step for a groove / tribal metal. Brazilian tribal melodies paired with metal like a good wine and cheese.

While this is the Sepultura’s farewell tour, it is not the same without Cavalera brothers. We knew it would not happen and unfortunately we will have to live with that. Nonetheless this is the mighty Sepultura. They deliver their shows on an insane level of aggressiveness. I can tell with utmost confidence that these metal giants will be missed. Their live shows are ones of the best. Please, check the listings below and catch up with these legends at your nearest city for one last time. I did, I am glad that I did. They played about twenty songs and it was the purest adrenaline.

Sepultura setlist – Beneath the Remains, Inner Self, Desperate Cry, Kairos, Means to an End, Attitude, The Vatican, Choke, The Place, Escape to the Void, Kaiowas, Dead Embryonic Cells, Agony of Defeat, Orgasmatron,
Territory, Refuse/Resist, Arise, Ratamahatta and Roots Bloody Roots.
