Hard and heavy sounds of Metal was the theme once again at the World Famous Whisky A Go Go on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, featuring the headliner of the night with the infectious metal sounds and performance of INFECTED RAIN. Along with this great band from Moldova, INFECTED RAIN had four opening acts and one support act who toured with them for their U.S. TOUR and that band is STITCHED UP HEART. Both bands were hard on this night! Both bands played great, loud and hard and infectious! And both bands are led by two powerful female vocalists, Lena Scissorhands of INFECTED RAIN and Mixi of STITCHED UP HEART.

STITCHED UP HEART – THE SUPPORT ACT ON THIS TOUR

Getting to the music venue can be tough during a work week in Los Angeles due to traffic and the amount of cars on the road. A 15 mile ride can sometimes take me an hour and a half to two hours, so I made the decision to miss the other opening acts and made sure I got to the venue in time for my assignment for the last two bands of the night.

Arriving just before the end of the set of the 4th opening band, I was able to place myself perfectly up front and on stage for STITCHED UP HEART. What a delight to finally see and hear this great American Rock Band that was formed back in 2010 by Alecia “Mixi” Demner. Her dynamic voice and great stage presence, along with her band of course, came in as no surprise for those who have seen the band play LIVE on stage before, but first time for me and I’ve only seen them on YouTube. Known for their hard and heavy riffs, blending alternative rock with heavy hard metal rock with some hints of goth, the band’s raw and aggressive sounds got the audience pumped up for the headliner. Mixi’s powerful vocals and growls were clean, crisp, harsh, sharp, melodic, and on point. The band complemented Mixi’s great energy and voice, fully engaging with the audience all throughout the night with a lot of fist bumping with their fans. The energy was non-stop from beginning to end, intense and adrenaline to the max. STITCHED UP HEART gave an A+ performance that was memorable which in turn wetted the palates of the crowd for INFECTED RAIN.

INFECTED RAIN – THE HEADLINER

When the lights finally dimmed down once again after STITCHED UP HEART’s set and fog filled the air inside the music venue, the crowd got excited once again. Then the band came down from the stairs above and marched their way onto the center stage with their fists high above their shoulders to greet the audience. Then the music came and the mayhem started.

Fronted by female vocalist, Lena Scissorhands, her dark elegant presence and powerful vibrant vocals and aggressive screams left an intense emotional reaction with the  audience that was felt throughout the entire evening. Lena is supported by the great talents of her bandmates which includes Vadim “Vidick” Ojog on lead guitar, Eugene Voluta on drums, and recent member Alice Lane on bass. Together they are INFECTED RAIN. Along with the venue’s vibrant lights and dark surroundings and fog filled stage, the band’s strong and versatile showmanship and unique sounds created an immersive atmosphere all throughout the evening with the audience often seen moshing and head banging along with the members of INFECTED RAIN. Lena’s great leadership skills and charm led to the best highlight of the evening where she got the audience to crowd surf at this very restrictive music venue where oftentimes if an audience member crowd surfs, he/she might end up getting kicked out. But thanks to Lena’s charm, the fans who participated in crowd surfing didn’t get kicked out. And The Whisky A Go Go were kind enough to let this pass through. But if a person does stage dive, he/she automatically gets kicked out as there are signs everywhere telling fans “IF YOU STAGE DIVE, YOU GO HOME.”

A warning sign reading 'Caution Laser In Use' next to a message that says 'If you stage dive, you go home' on a staircase in a venue. Below, a schedule of upcoming performances is visible.

Their relentless non-stop aggressive energy and performance, their intense and dark and beautiful sounds of loud metal, along with Lena’s strong command to get the audience to participate with them will leave an indelible mark in one’s life when one sees them LIVE on stage.

The band is currently at the end of their U.S. tour as I write this. But INFECTED RAIN will be on tour in Europe this summer. CHECK OUT their website for their next MUTATION PHASE 2026 TOUR. https://www.infectedrain.com/tours/
