On June 12, House of Blues Anaheim was packed wall to wall for a sold-out night of heavy music as Kittie brought their current tour to Southern California. With support from Gore and Kingdom of Giants, the night delivered a mix of intense performances, a highly energetic crowd, and a reminder of why live metal shows continue to bring fans together.

Opening the night was Gore, who immediately set the tone for the evening with a heavy and aggressive performance. Their set brought a strong energy to the room and helped build momentum as fans continued to fill the venue. The crowd response showed that the audience was ready for a night of loud guitars, powerful vocals, and nonstop movement.

Kingdom of Giants followed with a performance that pushed the energy even higher. The band kept the crowd engaged throughout their set, with fans reacting strongly to the heavier moments of the performance. The pit was active, and the number of crowd surfers throughout their set showed how much energy they were able to create inside the venue. Their stage presence and connection with the audience helped keep the momentum moving into the headlining performance.

When Kittie took the stage, the atmosphere inside House of Blues Anaheim changed immediately. The band delivered a performance filled with power, confidence, and the kind of energy that comes from years of experience on stage. The sound was heavy, the performance was tight, and every member brought a strong presence that kept the audience involved from start to finish.

The crowd response was one of the biggest highlights of the night. Fans sang along to several songs throughout the set, while crowd surfers continued making their way toward the barricade. The connection between the band and the audience was clear, with both sides feeding off the energy of the room.

Kittie’s live performance showed why they remain an important name in the metal scene. Their ability to deliver a heavy sound while maintaining a strong stage presence made the sold-out show feel like a special night for everyone inside the venue.

Overall, the night was an impressive showcase of three bands bringing different styles of heavy music to the stage. Gore started the night with intensity, Kingdom of Giants raised the energy, and Kittie closed things out with a memorable headline performance. Fans who have the opportunity to catch Kittie on the rest of their tour should take advantage of it. Their live show is a powerful experience that is worth seeing in person.

ABOUT KITTIE (from the band)

Canadian heavy music pioneers Kittie transformed from four teenagers into international heavyweights with their 1999 debut “Spit,” achieving gold certification and proving that all-female metal bands could achieve both critical respect and commercial success in an entirely male-dominated genre. Through subsequent albums including ‘Oracle’ (2001), ‘In The Black’ (2009), and ‘I’ve Failed You’ (2011), the band evolved into a metal tour de force before entering a prolonged hiatus broken only by a 2017 hometown show and 2018’s documentary ‘Kittie: Origins/Evolutions.’

The band returned to the live stage in 2022 following festival offers from Sick New World and When We Were Young, which reignited the spark and lead to the release of their 2024 album ‘Fire‘, produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice In Chains), which marked their triumphant return with renewed fury and sonic brutality.

Vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander, drummer/backing vocalist Mercedes Lander, guitarist Tara McLeod, and bassist Ivy Vujic maintain that Kittie never officially broke up because it has always been ingrained in their identity. As they celebrate 30 years with the “Legacy Of Fire Tour,” Kittie continues to blaze forth, illuminating the way and celebrating the indelible mark they’ve made on heavy music as innovators, trailblazers and torchbearers.
