Actress, Music Artist, Author and now Filmmaker Hayley Kiyoko visited the Grammy Museum on June 29th in the final stop for her the promo tour for the film “Girls Like Girls”. This 2026 movie is a coming-of-age romantic drama film directed by Hayley Kiyoko and based on her 2023 best selling book. LA Times Pop Music Critic Michael Wood conducted the interview of Hayley that delved into her multi-faceted career in music and TV and the 10 year project to bring Girls On Girls from a germinating idea to a fully bloomed film. Facing years of rejection for this project she persevered and the project was finally realized this year with theatrical release of this film. The focus on this film was all-consuming for Ms Kiyoko who actually hadn’t even performed live since 2023. This author first discovered Hayley ten years back in the former CSI Cyber TV show where she played the role of special agent computer geek-hacker. A look back on her career shows she’s never idle, having done it all across various acting roles in TV,  film, theater & videos along with her EP & album releases plus her book projects and movie – quite the busy lady!

After the interview there was the usual Grammy Museum Q&A with the audience followed by a wonderful short set of music that included a duet with music artist Chelsea Cutler. The five song set was great, capped off with the title song from Girls Like Girls to a highly energized full Grammy Museum theater.  The film Girls Like Girls is currently in limited release in theaters across the US.
