Glasswaves, a Rochester, New York-based trio that seamlessly blends dark pop, alternative rock, and electronic elements with a heavy and dynamic edge, is thrilled to announce their new album (while) True. The debut album arrives October 23 via SharpTone Records. Pre-order it here.

“This song is about the feeling of something taking over your mind and feeding off of you, only to realize you are the thing that’s been consuming you,” saysNoah. “When this one started it felt like we tapped into a new, almost nu-metal direction for us, while still keeping that core Glasswaves sound.”

In an effort to seemingly better understand and treat trauma, addiction, and obsession, a med-tech company called Liminal-Neuro runs psychological tests on various subjects by administering an experimental drug labeled “Neuro Veil.”
When these experiments fail, a radiant ancient female entity known as “The Veil” materializes, embodying the subject’s most intimate desires. This manipulative force brings out the worst in her victims and incites unimaginable horror.
Undeterred by ethics, Liminal-Neuro’s lead doctor makes it his mission to find her…
This story could certainly serve as the plotline for an epic sci-fi horror mini-series or even some actual news headline. However, it plays out in captivating fashion on Glasswaves’ full-length debut LP, while(True). The Rochester, NY trio set the narrative’s action to a soundtrack electrified by bursts of cathartic metalcore, shockwaves of ethereal hard rock, and spasms of vulnerable dark pop.
Coupled with big screen-worthy storytelling, the collective, which formed in 2023 and steadily built a following through singles, an EP, and touring, instantly strike a chord on multiple levels.
“People will see things happening and choose not to do anything, because it’s easier than taking action,” explains Miller. “Developments like A.I. data centers deplete natural resources, but nobody seems to care. ‘The Veil’ represents this sort of selfishness. Even though the company Liminal Neuro promises to get rid of your fears and worries and empower you to become the person you want to be, the doctors are merely using everyone just to find ‘The Veil.’”
Throughout 2026, the musicians assembled while(True) alongside producer Justin Spaulding, working out of Atlanta and New York as well as via Discord. The group mined a diverse swath of inspirations, spanning The Neighbourhood, Tame Impala, The Plot In You, Sace6, and Bring Me The Horizon.
Ultimately, Glasswaves have crafted a multi-dimensional world without comparison.
