The first No Repeat Weekend of Metallica’s 24-show Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas is in the books. Against a backdrop of mesmerizing and immersive bespoke production and visuals, the band powered through some 30 songs over the course of October 1 and 3, with surprise highlights including the first live performance of “…And Justice for All” since 2014, the first airing of “Devil’s Dance” since 2008, the return of “The Outlaw Torn,” absent from the live set since 2019, and more. An ecstatic crowd of nearly 40,000 joined James, Lars, Kirk and Robert on a two-night journey featuring two completely different set lists and two entirely different arrays of visuals, making each night a unique experience that brought mind-blowing new dimensions to classics and deep cuts spanning the vast Metallica catalog.

Life Burns Faster at Sphere reaffirms Metallica’s historical standing at the vanguard of new and unique live experiences, one that has seen the band play to millions of fans across all seven continents in every shape and size of venue imaginable. The ongoing M72 World Tour has played to more than 5 million fans since its 2023 kick-off, its 99 shows across 26 countries hailed as among the best of the band’s 40+ year history—and continuing to break attendance records spanning the globe.

Following the March 11-13, 2027 finale of Life Burns Faster, M72 will make its anxiously awaited return to North America — Nearly 700,000 tickets were sold in one week for the upcoming series of 12 stadium dates in cities the M72 tour will be visiting for the first time.
