Many fans may not agree what genre of music My Chemical Romance is, but everyone can agree that words like amazing, great, and exceptional is how they should be described. The New Jersey band from the early 2000’s formed in wake of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, New York, New York. They are amongst giants also from New Jersey including Misfits, Skid Row, and Bon Jovi. While they have made each album distinctive, they have produced each with its own set of genre bending sounds. They have said that their influences came from David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Queen, Black Flag, the Misfits, and Nirvana. After calling it quits in 2013, on Halloween 2019 they announced a reunion tour intended for 2020, though the universe had other plans. After two postponements, Gerald Way (lead vocals), Ray Toro (lead guitar), Mikey Way (bass guitar), Frank Iero (rhythm guitar), Jarrod Alexander (drums), and Jamie Muhoberac (keyboards) were able to kick off the reunion tour 20 August 2022.
