New Music Video From The Honest Heart Collective “Suffocate”

“I’ve toyed with the idea of giving up on my dreams a few times now. You could even say I romanticized it; how sweet life could taste without the unpredictable struggle of chasing a forever-moving finish line. Then again, could I even find happiness in abandoning what we worked so hard to obtain? Every time I think about it, I question my purpose. I’ve learned that a person without a purpose can be a dangerous thing. Desperately avoiding bitter disappointment. It’s a suffocating feeling when what you want in life conflicts with what you see when you close your eyes and say your own name.” – Ryan MacDonald (Lead Singer)

Thunder Bay modern rockers The Honest Heart Collective offer themselves up to fans with the release of the official music video for ‘Suffocate,’ available now via AWAL. Dubbed  “one of Canada’s most underrated rock bands” (Exclaim), the foursome released the accompanying track last week, reconnecting with JUNO-nominated producer Derek Hoffman (Arkells, The Darcys, RALPH) on ‘Suffocate’ and breathing fresh air into the indie scene. The single was included on Spotify’s All New Rock, Ready To Rock, and Rock The World playlists, and has quickly become the bands most successful release to date. Directed by Travis Didluck, the video encompasses undeviating imagery that compliments the underlying tone of the song with a pervasively raw performance from the band. Marking both a sense of closure from young adulthood and the start of a matured version of The Honest Heart Collective, ‘Suffocate’ is a crossroads of both promise and pain.
