Indianapolis Colts owner is passionate about music. He has put together the The Jim Irsay Band, a who’s who of band members and special guests from the world of music who do a handful of shows each year across the US. Last night’s show touched down in LA for an incredible night of music and SLR Magazine was on-hand to capture the show. The band is led by Kenny Wayne Shepard and includes fellow guitarist Tom Bukovac, bassist Mike Mills (REM), drummer Kenny Aronoff and more. After some opening numbers that included a perfect rendition of Comfortably Numb with Kenny handling guitar duties on David Gilmour’s original guitar a slate of special guests joined that turned into a greatest hits night of music. This included the legendary Buddy Guy, Ann Wilson of Heart, REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin, J Geil Band’s Peter Wolf and capped off with Billy Gibbons.
The Jim Irsay Collection which was on display before the show is a museum quality collection of American historical artifacts and music collectibles that will be the subject of a separate story to follow.
