I hate Pennsylvania with a passion! Yet, I enthusiastically go there once a year. Why? Well, I’ll tell you. This year marks the fourth annual Camp Punksylvania. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s an incredible concept of combining a camp and a punk music festival. Attendees sleep in tents at the festival site or camp in their cars. For those who choose, they can stay in the nearby hotels. On site, there are showers, vendors, and food trucks. Last year, they even had carnival rides for the kids, solidifying their purpose to be an all ages festival. They have thought of everything for the convenience of the festival-goers. You need to experience it yourself to fully appreciate the great effort put into this festival.
Camp Punksylvania is a grass roots punk festival ran by two incredible young women named Lora Rose and Terry Smith. Together they have built a truly unique and amazing festival! It’s so good that even a PA hater like myself can’t wait to go back.

July 5th – 7th 2024 will be their biggest lineup yet! Some of the bands include: Less Than Jake, The Dirty Nil, Big D and the Kids Table, Bad Cop\Bad Cop, The Bronx, Keep Flying, The Galaxy Has Eyes, and over 40 more bands!!!

I had the privilege of being a volunteer last year, and I’m happy to say, I’ll be volunteering again this year. So I can absolutely tell you first hand, that if you are even remotely close to Gilbert, PA, then you need to come to this festival! I know, I know, you have never even heard of Gilbert, PA. However, the camp atmosphere and all the bands makes the trip to PA worth it. That is why even though I hate Pennsylvania, I look forward to traveling each year, just so I can attend Camp Punksylvania. Tickets are on sale now at www.camppunksylvania.com
