On August 8th at The Mercury Lounge in New York City

ZOE KO coming from New York, New York was an interesting new listen for me. Her songs are upbeat and fully diving into an alt pop sound. She came out with an energy that had my attention immediately. I really enjoyed their set and sound and how they can capture the crowd’s attention and call for participation as well. She was all smiles and cheeky on stage which I enjoyed. I wasn’t familiar with her music going into it, but hearing and seeing her perform I’m a fan now.

SOPHIE POWERS, a single artist with a band behind her headlined her own “THE GLITCH TOUR” on Thursday, August 8th at The Mercury Lounge in New York City was an amazing show, Her set list was a great blend of old songs and new ones. During the performance she even had a fan come up during her cover of ‘wildest dreams’ and sang to them and danced a bit. Her stage presence and crowd interactions were solid and fun.

I discovered Sophie Powers when she opened for Loveless during their headlining show in March. I’ve seen her three times now and each performance was better than the last. Her outfits are made by herself and that’s something you don’t really hear of or see much of with performers. She’s talented not only on stage but with that as well. During some songs she even had a full choreography and dancers as well which was a new touch to her show that I really enjoyed seeing as well. Overall I definitely will go see her again.
