The best selling Nothing But A Good Time published in 2021 was an awesome book that chronicled the early 80’s Sunset Strip music scene in Hollywood. 3 years later the story is now being brought to TV in a multi-part rockumentary just released on Paramount Plus.
SLR Magazine had exclusive access to the VIP Screening Party on Monday that included the original book authors Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour along with several of the cast members who tell the story of one of the craziest and creative periods in glam, hair and hard rock. I’m not only authoring this article but I’m also in the movie as I was a part of this period as a photographer documenting and working with several of these bands. You’ll see it all, the formatting of Motley Crue, Ratt, Poison, Dokken, Guns & Roses and more along with the great music and over-the-top debauchery – nothing is held back!
The two episodes we saw in this screening event were fast-paced, well produced and had the entire crowd at the Rainbow cheering throughout the evening — worth the watch!
