On October 6th, 2024 at Irving Plaza in New York City
British rock band Asking Alexandria returned to the U.S. on the headlining “All My Friends” North American tour in support of their most recent critically acclaimed album Where Do We Go From Here? released via Better Noise Music last year. Support is provided from special guests Memphis May Fire and The Word Alive with opening act Archers. We caught up with the tour last night in the New York City.

THE WORD ALIVE coming from Phoenix Arizona wasn’t a new listen for me, but it was my first time seeing them live. Their songs are heavy in sound. Telle, their singer, came out with an energy that had my attention immediately. I really enjoyed their set and sound and how they captured the crowd’s attention. They were all smiles and positive energy on stage which I enjoy in live music. I was familiar with their music going into it, having heard a few songs in passing, but hearing and seeing them perform I’m a fan now.

MEMPHIS MAY FIRE, a band coming from Denton Texas, came with some heat. Their setlist was a great blend of old songs and new ones. The crowd went completely insane for them to the point Matty Mullins, the singer, gave New York a slot for one of the best stops on the tour. I discovered Memphis May Fire in highschool in passing and have been a fan ever since. they blended their set between old and new songs and that made the crowd go absolutely insane over it. There were crowd surfers left and right and a mosh pit in the middle of the venue. Overall I definitely will go see them again.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA, a band formed in York, North Yorkshire headlined the ‘ALL MY FRIENDS PT 2’ tour, closing out the night. On vocals you have Danny Worsnop, who despite not feeling well did absolutely amazing last night, taking on clean vocals and some screams as well. On bass you have Sam Bettley, who was full of head bangs, riffs, and hyping up the crowd. On guitar you have Cameron Liddell, who absolutely ripped last night. He was full of smiles and head bangs and crowd hyping and even warning about crowd surfers too. On drums you have James Cassells who perfectly blended the band’s sound together and was absolutely on fire as were the others. I’ve seen Asking Alexandria six times before last night and last night was their best show I’ve seen and setlist as well. They threw in some old songs I’ve never seen them play before and have been wanting to see for a long time which was amazing. The crowd went absolutely insane for it as did I. I definitely look forward to seeing them again to see what else they come up with for their show.
