WASP kicked-off their US Tour on Saturday Oct 26th in San Luis Obispo, California and SLR Magazine was there. After a two-year hiatus the Blackie Lawless and his band aiming to maximize the experience for die-hard fans with a front-to-back performance of the debut album “WASP”, released 40 years ago! The die-hards weren’t disappointed as the group delivered a near flawless night of music. Blackie is in good form, his band is really tight and the high wattage sound is spot-on.
The six song encore added additional WASP hits such as “Forever Free” and well as a couple of pleasant surprises, Humble Pie’s “I Don’t Need No Doctor” and The Who’s “Can You See The Real Me”. All-in-all this is good night of music and seeing the iconic Blackie Lawless touring is worth the price of the ticket. The US & Canadian portion of the tour continues through December followed by a metallic invasion of Europe in 2025.
