PERFORMING LIVE AT DIPIAZZAS IN LONG BEACH, CA ON FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2025
Wowza! What a great surprise for me. Had the opportunity to see a young and talented band all because a famous and legendary photographer named Jack Lue told me to come in early to see this band and not just The Anti Groupies at this venue. The band is called SEASIDE SCREAMS. This band is mysteriously vibrant, heavy and powerful, and raw to the max with their screamo sounds and somber melodies and thrashing stage presence all coming from four young artists. For me, SEASIDE SCREAMS gave a performance reminiscent of some great bands from the 80’s such as Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, and The Sugarcubes but with their own unique flair and style of alt rock. I haven’t seen and heard this type of music since the good old days underground Rock.

I also had the pleasure of meeting their front woman, Riley Lopata, who is an artist by heart acting on stage like an uncanny zombie screaming and singing to the top of her lungs and performing as if there is no tomorrow and that the true moment is really being present on stage. Her peculiar shoulder shrug dance moves is something to be seen. I can’t quite describe it but it’s rather eerily cute and cool at the same time. Just to see her do this is worth the price of admission.
But let us not count out the rest of her band mates: Mason Lopata on Bass with his cool smooth grooves, Adrien Jones with his wild axe shredding skills and signature hair flips, and Julian Crawford with his hard pounding beats on drums. Altogether they are pure, raw, and powerful.
Overall, SEASIDE SCREAMS is one powerhouse band who will surprise music lovers with their superb talents and stage performance. I highly recommend this band to anyone who loves dark, heavy, mysterious, and screamo alternative rock music. I look forward to seeing them again in the future.
