I have to admit, I didn’t know anything at all about this band. But when my online Media Outlet, S.L.R. MAGAZINE asked me if I was available to cover and shoot the show on Friday, April 18, 2025, I quickly googled who they are and did my research and was immediately fascinated by them from what I read especially since I do love me some Prog Rock Music.

So when I did more research about the band and watched and listened to some of their music videos, I said to my editor, “Let’s Go Ahead and cover this great Prog Rock Band.”
From my research, LEPROUS has been around since 2001. They are from Norway and was founded by singer and keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke. And according to my research as well, Einar and Tor are also supported by the following musicians as the current members of LEPROUS: Robin Ognedal, Baard Kolstad, and Simen Børven
As with all Prog Rock Metal Bands, the sounds tend to be different than most Metal Music because Prog Rock Metal is very experimental and is an amalgamation of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock, and even some Classic Rock, all infused into one unique Avant Garde and Symphonic Staunchy Sound.
LEPROUS is no exception here. They are a Progressive Metal Band who builds their foundation with melodic synths on keys; the melancholic, yet energized, harsh and operatic vocals by the lead vocalist who is always on point when singing; strong and powerful bass licks; and hard, chaotic, and innovative drumming. But let us not forget the beautiful sounds and riffs of the guitar which is very much present and deserves a ton of attention as well for adding that richness of tones into the mix of their music. If the bass, the synthesizers, the drums, and the vocals are the cake, the guitar is definitely the icing that gives that extra texture of sweetness to the cake.
From my point of view, there is nothing negative I can say about what I saw and heard from this band on this night, especially since I recently just discovered them this year. The fans gave the same energy as the band. They were happy and supportive and elated with the band’s performance. The music was definitely memorable with cinematic lights and effects adding to their great stage presence. Some may say that some fans may not like them as much because their current sounds are a lot less heavier than the previous ones. But for me I call this as growth and I love what LEPROUS offered to me on this night from their “MELODIES OF ATONEMENT” tour, A Symphonic Melodious Sound of Metal Music who pushed the boundaries of traditional heavy metal music where guitars and screams are the foundation. LEPROUS left a lasting memory for me on this night and would definitely add this band on my “TO WATCH AGAIN LIVE” list. They are definitely a band to see and hear again, and again, and again.
