LET THE MUSIC PLAY AND THE DOCTHOR RHYTHM BE SEEN AND HEARD – A PHOTOSHOOT WITH DRUMMER BERNHARD TAGWERKER, BY DON MARCELO

Austrian born Bernhard Tagwerker is a drummer and percussionist and a part-time E.R. Medical Doctor who now calls Los Angeles his home. Being a medical doctor, one must be precise with his instruments when it comes to saving lives. Precision is key. And in music it is the same. Drummers are the foundation for the band to keep everything in precise order and timing of the music. And this is exactly what Bernhard Tagwerker brings to the table when it comes to his musicality and his skills as a drummer—precision and perfect timing. Thus, Bernhard Tagwerker, aka DocThor Rhythm, is known for his smooth but hard rhythmically perfect timing when it comes to playing his drums.

I first met him in 2022 when he was the drummer of another band he was in while he was completing his courses from the renowned music school, Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. After departing from that band, he contacted me a year later to photograph his new and current band called No Wrong Numbers, where he played a small intimate set at Hotel Cafe and months later at The World Famous Whisky A Go Go and then at The Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood.

Bernhard, aka DocThor Rhythm, brings us years of professional and international experience with an array styles of drumming from Rock to Funk to Jazz.

Currently showcasing his style with funk-rock band No Wrong Numbers and playing all around the greater Los Angeles Area at different local and intimate venues, DocThor Rhythm also has another band based in Orange County CA called The DocThor Rhythm Quartet where he showcases his Jazz style of drumming and where he and his Jazz band “bring the musical vibe for your special event” and is currently booking for all your musical needs.

I have had the pleasure of photographing DocThor Rhythm numerous times at my photo studio and have covered his live show performances with his band No Wrong Numbers. And every time I get to photograph him solo or with his band, he always brings in an element of surprise from being serious to being fun to just being himself when photographing. He shows his true passion with his craft and love of music not only when it comes to LIVE Performances but also in the studio.
