LA-based group The Rescues made their homecoming to LA this past week with a show where it all started at The Hotel Café, the center of the LA indie music scene. This has been well-known on the LA music scene since their formation in 2008. Composed of three accomplished musical performers who were already making their mark in music, Gabriel Mann, Kyler England and Adrianne Gonzalez. These three were originally brought together to support a friend’s wedding and something really clicked and after this wedding event they started creating music together and the result was a very catchy pop-rock with harmonies in the same league as other acclaimed groups such as CSN, Fleetwood Mac, Mama’s & Papas and The Eagles. Critically acclaimed EP’s and albums followed as well as a deal with Republic Records and soon after their music punctuated a lot of popular TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy all while the three continued their individual works for TV, movies and games.

In recent years the Rescues music effort went on a hiatus when they were tapped in 2021 to score the music for the Lost Boys musical, directed by Tony Award winning director Michael Arden. The shows  run is slated to start this coming April on Broadway at The Palace Theater. This music creation has been 5 years in the making and nearing completion enabled The rescues to break away and do this one-off show at The Hotel Café.

Joining the trio was a string quartet that added a mix of both subtlety and power to the show. Special guests LJ Benet from the cast of Lost Boys and two-time Tony Award winner & director Michael Arden himself who became a fan of the group after seeing them live in LA years back. The show was itself was the usual over-the-top good night of music that this group is known for, the gallery below captures some highlights from the show.
