Two Titans of Rock, one from The East and one from The West, joined forces together with a heart stopping and great performance at the popular music venue, THE VERMONT HOLLYWOOD. Music fans from all over The U.S. flocked to LA to see the Finale of ETERNAL PHENOMENON TOUR. Some fans drove as far away as San Francisco to see both bands perform on November 15, 2025. One fan I know even flew all the way from Arizona to see them perform here in LA. These super fans, as I often call them “The Usual Suspects”, camped out as early as 2am (Wilson, John, Justine, Rene, Jacky, Rey, Aaron and many others) to see The All Female Japanese Heavy Metal Band called LOVEBITES and the American Rock Band EDGE OF PARADISE perform the last show of this tour. They weathered the wet climate on this day where Los Angeles hardly ever gets these days due to the on-going drought that’s been occurring for years now. And on this day and night, Mother Nature decided to shower the fans with some heavy rain. And just like the USPS saying goes: “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” And these fans definitely made sure they were there in total support of these two great bands despite the heavy rains.

As the special guest and support act for LOVEBITES, EDGE OF PARADISE showed the fans the style of music they have on this night, laced with lots of heavy driven amplified guitars and hints of industrial style sounds and powered by the melodic voice of their lead singer. Fronted by their elegant and stylish lead vocalist, Margarita Monet, she sets the energy on this night with her powerful and rich vocal range and her presence on stage looking like a real work of art herself as if she was the creation of the great artist and sculptor, Leonardo da Vinci himself. She is a work of art in true life form, if I may say so. . On point from beginning to the end, Margarita’s vocals give a new meaning to the words powerful and pure. Her vocal range goes from highs and lows in a matter of seconds while maintaining a level of precision and consistency in singing without cracking as single note, all of this while she rocks and head bangs hard and glides across the stage back and forth from one end to the other making sure sure she utilizes all the space on the stage so that fans can enjoy her stage presence and performance.
But let us not forget the Gentlemen of EDGE OF PARADISE. With Dave Bates and Doug Weiand shredding their axes so exceptionally playing heavy and loud and Kenny Lockwood’s thunderous bass grooves and Jamie Moreno’s hard pounding skills on drums making sure that every beat can be felt by all the fans, these boys play aggressive and loud while maintaining a harmonious style complementing Margarita’s voice. They are fun to watch with their instruments of choice with lots of hair flips and hair twirling. Fans of old and new were oftentimes seen mimicking them at the same time while they play and sing.
Overall EDGE OF PARADISE is a band that has a unique sound that everyone needs to hear and see their performance LIVE on stage. A sight to be seen and music to be heard and felt. This band is a must for someone who loves the infusion of progressive rock, industrial rock, and heavy metal all put together as one great hard rock band.
With EDGE OF PARADISE setting the tone for the headliner, music fans were all waiting in anticipation for LOVEBITES to get on stage. When the lights finally dimmed and LOVEBITES got on stage, a roar of cheers and adulations from fans were heard all over Los Angeles. Imagine seeing five beautiful angels all dressed in white float across the stage then all of a sudden getting hit with a hard sounds of heavy metal guitar riffs and a thunderous bass guitar claps and heavy drums complementing an operatic voice by their lead singer, one would not expect anything like this at all, especially coming from an all female Japanese band. But this is exactly what LOVEBITES bring to the table. This unique melodic, symphonic, heavy metal sounds that separates them from most Heavy Metal music. As Asami, the lead vocalist of LOVEBITES would often say to the crowd, “We are LOVEBITES! We play Heavy Metal!” And Heavy metal they are indeed.
Having covered and seen LOVEBITES previously for their 1st U.S. Tour in 2024, (see my previous article I wrote about LOVEBITES below*), I knew exactly what was coming, great music, great musicians, great performance, and a great production from LOVEBITES. The band consists of seasoned and talented artists who have banded together as LOVEBITES since 2016, except for their new bassist who came on board in 2022 after the departure of the original bassist and founding member in 2021. Despite the departure of the original bassist, the band stayed true to its form with their heavy metal symphonic sounds. The band currently has the following members:
- Haruna – drums (2016–present)
- Midori – guitars, backing vocals (2016–present)
- Miyako – guitars, keyboards, backing vocals (2017–present); as a support musician (2016–2017)
- Asami – lead vocals (2016–present)
- Fami – bass guitar (2022–present)
Together they form one powerful Heavy Metal band called LOVEBITES.
This band is hard hitting to the max. With a melodic and operatic voice by Asami, complemented by the hard guitar riffs by Midori and Miyako, and the speed and power drums skills by the founding member Haruna, and the bass playing skills of of Fami with her infectious smile, this band defines a new meaning when it comes to the word Heavy Metal. One would not expect great melodies and harmony when it comes to Heavy Metal. Most will say, Heavy metal is harsh and noisy. This is not them. In fact they are the opposite of what one would expect when it comes to Heavy Metal, lots of great harmonies with intense speed. Heavy Metal with lots of beautiful smiles without compromising the textures one would hear from your so-called normal Heavy Metal Metal music. The music is catchy, loud, and fast. You will hum and sing along to their sounds. You will bang your head along with the members. You will raise your hands and fists and make the sign of the horns with your hand. This band plays hard with exceptional musicianship by each member. I can’t say enough great things about this band as I have said and written previously from the first time I saw them play in 2024.
Overall, you will have so much fun hearing and watching them perform LIVE on stage. Catch LOVEBITES next time they tour in The U.S. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you to EDGE OF PARADISE and to LOVEBITES for having me and all the photographers on this night. Thank you for all your hard work. We shall see you again in 2026 and beyond.
A special shout out to the venue THE VERMONT HOLLYWOOD for providing great sounds and lighting and to all their staff members for being extremely gracious and friendly, organized and helpful especially the security Mike who remembered me the last time I was there covering another group called A2O MAY from China. Thank you to each and everyone of you for creating a wonderful venue and hosting all these amazing musicians
