It was another great evening of music on Sunday November 16, 2025 at the renowned and historical music venue, The Regent DTLA. A flock of die hard fans gathered early and in full strength to support and to see one, if not all, their favorite bands on this night. Familiar faces were seen who latched onto the barricade and held their spots gripping tightly on the metal bar marking their territory. I said my Hello’s and Hi’s and gave high fives to the familiar fans as I prepared myself for work.

AUTUMN KINGS:

Autumn Kings opened up and kicked off the night with a powerful and strong performance that got everyone energized right away. Reining from Canada, this band’s high octane energy was non-stop from beginning to the end. Their music can be described as modern rock infused with elements of alternative rock and emo and pop punk from the early 2000’s with small dashes of rap and hip hop blended in, think Fallout Boy meets Linkin Park meets X Ambassadors. A great band that fueled the energy of the crowd.

VANA:

Following Autumn Kings, VANA, a New Zealand Artist, electrified the crowd as the 2nd act of the night in support of SET IT OFF. This was my 2nd time seeing her perform live on stage. But before the show even started, I was very fortunate to have met her during her meet and greet time with some super fans a couple of hours before. And this happened because of a super fan and friend named Erik J. who couldn’t make it to the show and decided to give me his VIP Pass instead to represent him. Thank you Erik!

When the band came on and VANA slithered her way onto the stage after the boys, a huge burst of cheers came forth right away. Her fans were ecstatic and delighted to see her again here in LA. All dressed up in a one piece red and black leather skirt outfit and donning an ornate mask and a crown-like head gear wrapped around her head, VANA was pure bliss to one’s eyes. She is like a sculpture of a goddess that the famous artist named Michelangelo sculpted and created but in real life and breathing form. She is Art disguised in human flesh. 

She was once asked by VICE New Zealand to describe her music to the people. She responded to VICE NZ by stating that her music is ‘HORNY! HEAVY! And a little FUNKY!” Her answer is definitely perfect. To make more sense of her music, I describe it as a unique blend of Hard Rock with influences of Synth Pop mixed in with some Heavy EDM Metal that emanates dark energy but boasting with love, self-discovery, female empowerment and positivity. Her stage presence is so infectious that one can often feel a wave of pure energy through her emotive expressions when singing. Her pretty smiles and intense stares will captivate your heart’s desires enticing you to be part of her dark and beautiful artistic universe that she has created. Truly a wonderful performance from this artist.

FAME ON FIRE.

Fame on Fire, the 3rd act on this night, is a band from Florida who set the stage on fire with their explosive and energized performance. This band was born to perform. With powerful vocals, catchy riffs and hard rocking melodies, one will always see himself or herself head banging hard with their music. Their style of music comes from a blend of hard rock to rap to pop which gives them a unique and dynamic range of style that can only be called Fame on Fire. On this night, their lead vocalist would often engage with audience members and reach out to them while singing. I love this type of audience engagement because it makes the fans more special as if he was personally singing to just one individual. Despite me not knowing anything about them, I truly enjoyed their show. Great Music with non-stop action and crowd  pleasing. Overall this band is truly fun to watch on stage and one must not miss them performing live on stage if they are ever in your city.

SET IT OFF.

Saving the best for last, the headliner of the evening, SET IT OFF, took it to another level of performance and stage theatrics. With tons of heavy fog often blasting to space in the front stage area and pulsating backlighting that makes it more challenging to photograph, SET IT OFF rocked the City of Angels and made a lasting impression to everyone on this night, including me since I didn’t know anything about the band. The crowd danced and moshed all throughout the night. The audience were singing and jumping along with the band. A spectacular sight to have seen where the people really enjoyed each moment of each song they performed.

Based out of Florida just like Fame on Fire, SET IT OFF’s style revolves around post-hardcore punk and alternative rock with blends of pop-punk. This adrenaline action pack band delivers high quality music and stage performance and theatrics without sacrificing their great musicianship for the audience to enjoy. They are loud and they are fun to watch. They are explosive and expressive on stage. And just like Fame on Fire, they love to engage with the audience almost on a one on one basis where the lead vocalist oftentimes reaches out to some fans and holds their hands like he was personally serenading her or him. This quality of behavior makes it truly a remarkable experience for the fans even if he just reaches out to one or a few fans up in the front on the barricade. 

Overall, this night was filled with lots of adrenaline pumping actions and fun. All 4 bands exceeded my expectations. Another great night from 4 great artists in one amazing music venue and professional staff. Let’s do this again soon.
