BAND-MAID Announces World Tour Details, Long-Awaited Nippon Budokan Two-Day Finale, and Live Concert Hiatus Beginning in 2027 Ahead of a Major Return in 2028

Globally acclaimed Japanese rock band BAND-MAID has unveiled the first details for the BAND-MAID WORLD TOUR 2026. The initial announcement includes the first wave of dates and venues across Japan, Asia, and Europe, alongside plans for North American performances in the United States and Mexico scheduled for October.

A five-member girl band posed dramatically in a dimly lit space, each wearing distinct black and white outfits. The members hold various musical instruments: a bass guitar, electric guitars, and a microphone, showcasing a blend of gothic and modern styles.

The North American leg marks their return to the continent since their 2023 tour, which included a historic appearance at Lollapalooza Chicago, making them the first Japanese band to play the festival since X JAPAN 13 years prior. For European fans, this will be the first solo tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic, making the entire global run one of the most highly anticipated tours worldwide.

The grand finale of the tour will feature a two-day concert at the legendary Nippon Budokan, fulfilling a long-held ambition following the cancellation of their 2021 performance due to the pandemic. The news of this long-awaited finale has been met with an overwhelming outpouring of joy and celebration from fans across the globe.

In a significant announcement, the band revealed that following the Nippon Budokan tour finale, they will enter a “short hiatus” from their “OKYU-JI” (live performance) activities. They describe this as a “recharge period for world domination,” during which members will continue creating music and gathering new influences, with a powerful return planned for 2028, their 15th-anniversary year.

“On the upcoming ‘BAND-MAID WORLD TOUR 2026,’ we are channeling all of our deep gratitude for your incredibly warm support into every single performance,” said BAND-MAID in a collective statement. “We are sincerely looking forward to meeting all of you in various parts of the world.”

The first piece of tour artwork, featuring a design with a world map, has also been released, visually underscoring the massive global scale of BAND-MAID’s activities. Further artwork updates are expected with the second round of tour details.

In addition to the tour news, the live video of “Present Perfect” from the sold-out “BAND-MAID TOUR 2025” finale at Tokyo Garden Theater has been released. “Present Perfect” was the final song of the two-hour concert and was performed immediately after the “BAND-MAID WORLD TOUR 2026” announcement. The footage captures a strong performance concluding with SAIKI (vo) calling out to the audience, “Keep following us next year too!” a line that takes on added significance as the full scope of their global plan is revealed.

BAND-MAID is a world-renowned all-girl rock band whose fierce sound defies their maid-inspired appearance. Their hard-hitting rock has earned widespread acclaim from fans and media across the globe, with over 230 million YouTube views to date. Reaction videos from fans worldwide continue to surge, surpassing 40 million additional views. With strong support from rock and metal audiences, the band drew over 20,000 fans during their 2022 U.S. tour, solidifying their reputation as one of the most popular international girl bands today. BAND-MAID has consistently shaken stages at major Japanese festivals while embarking on annual world tours, selling out shows across the U.S., U.K., and Europe. In 2019, the band announced a touring partnership with global promoter Live Nation and released the album Conqueror, produced in part by legendary rock icon Tony Visconti. In 2020, they formed an alliance with United Talent Agency for U.S. representation and released Unseen World. Their Hollywood debut came in 2021 with an appearance in the Netflix film Kate. The following year, they embarked on their sold-out U.S. tour with more than 20,000 attendees, and performed as a special guest for Guns N’ Roses in Japan. In 2023, celebrating their 10th anniversary, BAND-MAID launched a global tour that included performances at four major international festivals—among them the world-renowned Lollapalooza—and capped the milestone with a triumphant headline show at Yokohama Arena. Marking a “new chapter” in 2024, BAND-MAID released Epic Narratives, their first full-length album in three and a half years. The 14-track album features highlights such as “Bestie,” co-written with Michael Aaron Einziger (Incubus guitarist and co-writer of Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”), and “SHOW THEM,” a collaboration with Mexican powerhouse trio The Warning. The album charted high across worldwide rankings following its release. In 2025, they released the EP SCOOOOOP, featuring the opening and ending themes for three popular anime titles. The EP achieved global success, drawing international attention, including being highlighted as one of the ‘9 Japanese Artists You Should Know’ on GRAMMY.COM, the website of the Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammy Awards. In 2026, they announced the WORLD TOUR, with dates confirmed for Japan, Asia, Europe, and North America. These achievements, paired with their bold vision of “world domination,” underscore the band’s rapid global rise as they expand both their domestic and international reach.
