On the heels this week’s Rock & Roll fantasy Camp awards event and concert a related event was held four days later, a screening for The Bridge. This is a heartwarming film about Israeli musicians personally affected by the events on Oct 7th 2023 and having to deal with the trauma, casting aside their music and trying to move on with their lives. This is not a political film, this is really a film about experiencing adversity, going through the healing process and again learning to make room for room for music as a cornerstone of their lives.

The Story
Following the events of Oct 7th Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp founder and CEO David Fishof wanted to see for himself the aftermath of the happenings and traveled to Israel to see it all first-hand. Seeing it all without the filter of the news was of course shocking. Early on in this visit David got to attend a funeral being held for a drummer who had tragically passed during the invasion. During this service the victims’ brother played on solo on a drum kit before tossing the drumsticks in the grave. It was at this moment that Mr Fishof came up with the idea of inviting 10 Israeli musicians to the RockCamp as a way of healing. As the film progresses you see the story of traumatized musicians working their way through the healing process at RockCamp, working with a who’s who of musicians such as Bumblefoot, Vinny Appice, Sebastian Bach and more. We get to experience the re-=kindling of the musical joy at RockCamp capped off with graduation performances at the Whisky and Viper Room venues in Hollywood. Again, this is a story about people, not politics The story is compelling and intimate and is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, a really well done film.
After the film screening 3 of the 10 Israeli musicians from the film performed on stage with RockCamp director Britt Lightning (who is also the guitarist for Vixen) followed by Q&A with the audience. All-in-all a great evening that left the audience touched and inspired and shows how music is instrumental in life.
David Fishof and his production team are currently seeking entry into the 2026 Film Festival and then will look to eventually release it on the major streaming platforms, once this does happen I would call this film a must-see.
