ELECTRIC VIOLINIST, MIA ASANO, CONQUERED AND SLAYED THE FIRST NIGHT OF HER FIRST EVER U.S. HEADLINER TOUR ON FEBRUARY 28, 2026 WITH A SOLD OUT SHOW AT THE MOROCCAN LOUNGE IN LOS ANGELES, CA, BY DON MARCELO

Albert Einstein once said, “I know that the most joy in my life has come to me from my violin.” On this night pure joy was felt not only by The Great Electric Violinist, MIA ASANO, but also by all of her fans. The love she has playing her instrument and sharing it LIVE on stage to everyone was deeply felt by everyone. Her positive energy and smile were so contagious throughout her set that it left an indelible mark and memory on everyone. I can only imagine the feeling of what MIA ASANO felt on this night when she sold out her first concert of this tour at the very last minute. And to quote MIA ASANO,  “I can’t believe I started off my first headline tour like this…I was so overwhelmed with joy that I cried on stage…The energy in the room was beyond anything I could have imagined. To Everyone who came out on Saturday night: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!” That is pure joy at its finest.

Angelenos and music fans from all over once again did not disappoint and this time in support of their favorite electric violinist, MIA ASANO. In this tough economy, they still opened up their hearts and wallets and showed tremendous support and love up to the last minute before the doors were opened that made it a SOLD OUT show. Some fans went out the extra mile and purchased VIP/Meet and Greet tickets. A fan named Joe Lo, whom I will dub as the number one fan, traveled all the way from Minnesota just to be the first one in line at the show. Joe beat out Erik J., a local music supporter of all kinds, who is usually the first one in line (perhaps next time Erik). Joe will also see Mia once again when she plays at The Underground in Minneapolis, MN. And the last fan I got to meet was Andrew from Rosemead, CA. Shout out to some of Mia’s family whom I got to meet personally as well and who were all so gracious: Uncle Tony, Auntie Georgie, and Eri. It’s always an honor and a pleasure meeting some fans and family members of an artist.

CARTOGRAPHER – The Support Act

The energy of the night was sparked off by the support act of an Alt/Modern Metal band from Los Angeles called CARTOGRAPHER. The band consists of front woman/lead vocalist Skies Marie, Drummer Stephen Haaker, Guitarist Travis Fodor, and Bassist Nick Morzov. Their fresh and vibrant sounds of Alt Modern Metal are catchy and fun with great hooks and riffs. Skies Marie, all dressed up in a sparkly and glittery outfit that she borrowed from Mia Asano’s closet that complimented the disco ball of the music venue, delivered a powerful presence on stage with strong vocals full of raw and evocative energy. Her bandmates matched her energy and performance delivering an unforgettable controlled chaos of showmanship on stage and on point playing their instruments. According to their website, they are a “true collective, sharing everything and taking care of each other as they passionately pursue a common dream—to be the best band in the world.”

MIA ASANO – The Headliner

To understand the meaning of the word genius, one should consider these points:

  • It is characterized by a high level of skill and talent.
  • It is referred to as having both an intellectual and creative level of power.
  • It often involves original ideas and innovative solutions

Like Albert Einstein, one thing is for sure, MIA ASANO has all these traits of genius when it comes to playing and performing her electric violin whether she does this LIVE ON STAGE or perform on all her social medias. On this night at The Moroccan Lounge MIA ASANO showed us her high level of skill and talent and showmanship, playing her electric guitar LIVE for her first SOLD OUT SHOW HEADLINER TOUR. The genius behind her creative and innovative style of playing and performance were seen and heard both with her original music as well as all the covers that she is known for to play on social media. A master of her craft, MIA ASANO delivered an outstanding and electrifying performance where the audience were all mesmerized by her emotional and powerful energy and her captivating effervescent smile. It was a non-stop action from start to finish by her and her band and some of her guest artists she brought on stage that night. MIA ASANO isn’t complete without the help and support by 3 super talented musicians on this tour in their own right: 

  • SAM FAIRLESS, Guitarist extraordinaire, part of team Jason Becker
  • ALICIA VIGIL, The Badass Bassist of the bands VIGIL OF WAR and DRAGONFORCE
  • And Drummer KYLE BRIAN ABBOTT who also plays with VIGIL OF WAR and several other bands.

The setlist on this night included mostly originals and some of her famous covers which she is known for. It includes all the following songs:

  1. STORM
  2. POWER RANGERS
  3. LABYRINTH
  4. LUNAR
  5. DRAGON
  6. MOTH
  7. SEA SERPENT
  8. NIGHTCRAWLER
  9. A SONG BY **UYANGA** [a guest performer and a collaboration of a song by Uyanga]
  10. DEATH WORM

As previously stated and said by Mia, “The Energy in the room was beyond anything I could have imagined.” I must agree with her statement. The energy of the fans was felt even before they got to enter the venue. At 5pm, the line outside the venue wrapped around the building with fans talking about Mia’s past performances on YouTube and other socials. A sea full of loving fans cheered non-stop for Mia from beginning to end and at one point even chanted “Mia! Mia! Mia!” showing their love and support for her. 

Having seen MIA ASANO’s LIVE performances 4 times in the past from the first time seeing her and covering for an assignment for another LA Music Venue, The Echo, back in 2023 playing alongside with Piper Ally aka Ally Crowley-Duncan, to the 2nd time as a special guest artist with NiNi Music/ NiNi Metal at The Mint in 2024 [***SEE MY PREVIOUS ARTICLE ON MIA ASANO BELOW], to the 3rd and 4th time covering NAMM 2025 where she played on two stages along with Saxophone Artist, Grace Kelly, I can honestly say that this first show of her first U.S. 2026 HEADLINE TOUR, she elevated her game to the next level. And it’s only natural that the more you perform/practice/play, the better you will become as an artist. Growth, experience, talent, skill, and hard work will always turn to brilliance and greatness. And on this night, we all experienced and saw greatness on stage from MIA ASANO and her bandmates.

Closing the night of her 1st tour, we were also introduced to two great musicians whom Mia invited to come up on stage and play with her, a Mongolian Artis/Vocalist named Uyanga and another great guitarist named Dovy who both delivered an outstanding performance, further enhancing the greatness, brilliance, and genius we all saw and experienced on this night by MIA ASANO.
