Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger descended on the Grammy Museum in LA for a great evening of interview, Q&A and a performance. Noted rock writer Kat Turman did a masterful job of hosting the evening where Lzzy and Joe highlighted their career starting off as teenagers in Central Pennsylvania when siblings Lzzy and her younger brother Arejay started their rock band from the ground up. One of the early successes shared was an award early-on as teenagers where the group scored a 3rd place prize at their high school talent show. This award served as early inspiration for Lzzy that perhaps a career in rock would follow! Years of playing anywhere and everywhere followed and the hard work paid off in 2009 with their first release Halestorm and in 2013 won a Grammy for their song Love Bites (So Do I). To this day Lzzy keeps that first high school award next to her Grammy and a pair of Alice Cooper boots that were gifted to her. The group is known for constant touring and are regulars on the festival & stadium circuit. They touched on their motivation and long term success being to create music that they love and not chasing hits, trends or money as well as really enjoying each other as a band loving to hang together as friends. The band scored big last year by being chosen to perform at the monumental Back To The Beginning show with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, England. Both Lzzy and Joe touted this as the absolute highlight of their lives as a group. Of special note is that the inspiration for the spelling of Lzzy came from Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. After the interview the audience of Halestorm fans asked some really insightful questions before the evening finished off with an energetic six song set. The latest release Everest was released last August and is recognized as a sonic peak for the band.

The group kicks off the 2026 touring season with dates later this month in South America, then England and a slate of dates in North America. Halestorm is a really great hard rocking band fronted by one of the best voices in rock worth seeing live.
