The Austin, Texas based electronic artist SINE (aka Rona Rougeheart) has released a new solo album entitled ‘La Mordre’ today on Metropolis Records. It marks a step up into a more expansive phase of her music, blurring genre lines and exploring the lure of stardom and all of its’ stories of lust, desire, control and seduction.
A pioneer of what she describes as ‘Electronic Boom’, Rougeheart blends sub bass, beats and grooves with industrial elements and signature lyrics that incorporate sarcasm, humour and serious issues. It all combines perfectly to elevate her music to new heights.
“When I started to gather the demos that I really wanted to include on the album, I saw a story unfolding,” explains Rougeheart. “The songs, in order, put together a picture of someone navigating a new and exciting but seemingly treacherous path with eyes on this ‘big prize’ or breakthrough – and they’ll do anything to get it. It’s a seductive tale with vampiric tendencies and a little loosening of moral values; a glittery story that will hopefully make you want to know more.”
‘La Mordre’ includes several self-produced songs and others co-produced with Curse Mackey (Pigface, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult) and AwareNess (calm.). The album has been mastered by Mark Pistel (Consolidated, Meat Beat Manifesto) and includes four previously released singles – ‘Trauma Bondage’, ‘Succumb To Me’, ‘Blood + Wine’ and ‘Cruel’ – with a video for the third of these available from today

SINE live shows are known for blending high-fashion aesthetics with synths, drumming and vocals, accompanied by cinematic visuals to entertain and empower. A multi-instrumentalist, Rougeheart has been endorsed by Gretsch Drums, Gibraltar hardware and Roland.
She has collaborated with Adrian Sherwood, Meat Beat Manifesto, Clan of Xymox, Chris Connelly (Pigface, Revolting Cocks), Mark Pistel (Consolidated), Andee Blacksugar (KMFDM, Blondie), Xiu Xiu and the late Mark Stewart (The Pop Group).
