This past week the 2026 edition of the Girlactic Music fest was held at the Whisky A-Go-Go in Hollywood. Now in its second year this festival is the creation of Pinktastic Plastixx lead singer Kitten Kay Sera whose vision was to create an event where women performers come together to showcase the great female music artists talent in LA and regionally. Last year’s event was the proof-of-concept for this type of event and this year’s event was bigger in scope featuring 8 different bands who all played sets of about 30 minutes each with 15 minutes between each act in rapid-fire succession. As with last year’s show there is an overall space-aged theme to the show and several of the artists also donned their spacey attire. The music artists generally are in the categories of rock, harder rock and punk-edged rock with the evening ending with Pinktastic Plastixx that even included a stage-filling choir for the opening songs, quite the production! All-in-all this show was really a great evening of music — congrats Kitten for giving us another great night of music. Looking forward to the 2027 edition!
