“The Weight of a Thousand Skies” is a song about the feeling of carrying the weight of rejection, uncertainty, and everything that comes with trying to build a life around something you truly believe in.

“For me, a big part of the song comes from repeatedly putting myself out there in the music industry — reaching out, taking chances, trying to create opportunities, and sometimes being met with rejection or complete silence,” says singer Katerina Nicole. “After a while, that silence can start to feel incredibly heavy. You start questioning yourself, wondering if you’re good enough, and asking how many times you’re willing to try again.”
She continues. “I also wanted the meaning to be bigger than just my experience in music. Everyone goes through periods where life feels like it’s piling more and more weight onto them — expectations, setbacks, responsibilities, disappointment, and the feeling that you have to keep functioning through all of it That’s what “The Weight of a Thousand Skies” represents to me: carrying an enormous amount of uncertainty and still choosing to believe that what you’re working toward is worth fighting for. For me, this song is about betting on yourself when nobody else is willing to. And maybe that’s the hardest part of chasing a dream: accepting that sometimes the only person who can keep the fire alive is you.”
Blending the crushing intensity of modern metalcore with soaring melodies and raw emotional honesty, the Canadian-born independent artist continues to carve out her own lane with each release.
