With the support from Brand Of Sacrifice, 200 Stab Wounds and Alluvial on March 22nd, 2025 at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ

American deathcore giants Whitechapel has embarked on the spring 2025 tour with the support from diverse acts of heavy music as Brand Of Sacrifice, 200 Stab Wounds and Alluvial. The tour kicked in a few days ago in Raleigh, North Carolina. Last Saturday the bands came to New Jersey to perform to a sold out crowd in Sayreville.

The first band of the night hails from Atlanta, Georgia and is called Alluvial. They blend many heavy music styles into their songs, with death metal, doom and some even maybe sludge sound, at least that is how I interpreted it. Band played a really impressive set, and I was not the only one that was a bit surprised to see such a strong opening act. The venue was packed very early and they played pretty much to a full audience and were received very well. Set was fairly long and included four songs from their 2021 album Sarcoma and 2023 EP Death is but the Door –  Exponent, Thy Underling, Sarcoma, The Putrid Sunrise, Area Code, Fogbelt and Bog Dweller.

Alluvial are: Kevin Muller – vocals, Wes Hauch – guitars, Tim Walker – bass and Zach Dean – drums

Second on the night were 200 Stab Wounds. A more traditional death metal sound is their signature. Band hails from Cleveland, Ohio and as Alluvial is active for under the decade. Just as expected they delivered a constant and steady onslaught of death metal. Band has fully embraced the gore side of traditional death metal as their album artwork and lyrics strongly emphasize. Their set was longer and the band was able to include wider scope of their discography – Hands of Eternity, Masters of Morbidity, Fatal Reality, Defiled Gestation, Drilling Your Head, Gross Abuse, Phallic Filth, She Was Already Dead, Skin Milk and Tow Rope Around the Throat.

200 Stab Wounds are: Steve Buhl: Vocals / Guitar, Raymond MacDonald: Guitar, Ezra Cook: Bass and Owen Pooley: Drums

Fast rising Canadian deathcore superstars Brand Of Sacrifice came up next. While the band from Toronto, Ontario has been formed in 2018, they have risen to prominence in the light speed. Band to date have released two studio albums and two EP’s. Band members even own their own streetwear brand Shibori Threads that focuses on metal music. Band plays what we can classify as modern deathcore.

Brand Of Sacrifice are: Kyle Anderson – lead vocals, Liam Beeson – guitars, Michael Leo Valeri – guitars, keyboard, percussion, Andrew Kim – bass, Chason Westmoreland – drums.

The stage was set for the Whitechapel. Band is the staple when we talk about deathcore and death metal. Originating from Knoxville, Tennessee back in 2006 they have built prominence with their heavy deathcore sound while moving into more melodic and clean vocals compositions as well. Band just released Hymns Of Dissonance which is their ninth studio album to date via Metal Blade Records. The album marks a return to the earlier version of Whitechapel, closer to their deathcore roots. Stage was set with four horsemen, I think. If not then they were just four scary looking pagan styled monikers with large horns. Their set was explosive to say the least: Prisoner 666, Hymns in Dissonance, Brimstone, A Bloodsoaked Symphony, Forgiveness Is Weakness, I, Dementia, A Visceral Retch, Ex infernis, Hate Cult Ritual, Prostatic Fluid Asphyxiation, Possession, This Is Exile, Let Me Burn, Our Endless War, The Saw Is the Law and for the encore Doom Woods.

Whitechapel are: Phil Bozeman – vocals, Ben Savage – lead guitar, Alex Wade – rhythm guitar, Zach Householder – guitar, Gabe Crisp – bass and Brandon Zackey – drums.
