The second day of SoCal’s Beachlife Festival — wow!

Day 2 featured a very diverse slate of artists that totally rocked the seaside of Redondo Beach in SoCal. A very diverse musical slate included ALO, a rock group whose sound is modern meets 70’s Pablo Cruise with a bit of yacht rock thrown in with a high level of musicianship. Then we had Sugar Ray whose frontman Mark McGrath delivered an aerobics class level of energy that got the thousands of attendees revved up. Susanna Hoffs delivered a greatest hits set with reimagined versions of Bangles classics. She is in top form, as good or better than her Bangles heyday. We had Skip Marley giving an inspirational message of love set. And speaking of love I’ve seen the Pretenders 5 times over the decades in their various versions and stages and I’ve never seen Chrissie Hynde so full of joy — she was totally in her element and her band was really tight, best-ever performance from this legendary group. Cake has a music style that is northern California irreverent and unique in their musical stylings but easy to love as they blazed through their set of hits and going “The Distance” . Sublime and the offshoot Long Beach Dub Allstars delivered flawless sets of their rockish, punkish and hip hoppish blender of music with Sublime closing out Day 2 to an overflow crowd.

A colorful schedule for the Beachlife Festival 2025, featuring a lineup of artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Sublime, Alanis Morissette, and The Beach Boys, set against a beach-themed background.

Here’s a collection of images from Day 2.
