Acclaimed artist and songwriter Lolo Zouaï shares another taste of her forthcoming album, Reverie, out April 24 with new single “Coquelicot.” The new song features French superstar Disiz, fresh off being named Male Artist of the Year at France’s Victoires de la Musique. He’s currently breaking records on the French charts with his collaboration with Theodora, for single “Melodrama,” holding the #1 spot for 22 consecutive weeks and collaborated with Kid Cudi on his “try try try” single late last year.

Together, on “Coquelicot,” Lolo and Disiz deliver an intense and magnetic drum & bass production that sees Zouaï embody a burning passion, oscillating between pleasure and vertigo, fitting seamlessly into Disiz’s melancholic universe. “Coquelicot” follows the release of Lolo’s intimate, powerful and vibrant performance of Desert Rose pt 2 via A COLORS SHOW which has almost 800k YouTube views to-date. The track invokes her Algerian roots and family heritage and taps into debates around identity and post-colonial memory.

On the collaboration, Zouaï notes: “Collaborating with Disiz was exciting because he’s someone who’s constantly evolving and reinventing himself which I really admire. We tried to merge our sonic worlds and languages for this track and I think we made a song that feels unexpected for both of us but still really fresh and magnetic.”

Throughout Reverie, Lolo reinvents herself and reconnects with who she is after years of silence, grief, and rebirth and reflects deep introspection that blends vulnerability with self-assertion. Production flows smoothly through alternative R&B, hip-hop, pop and Arabic influences, creating dark, sensual, and cinematic textures. Singing equally in both French and English, Lolo’s voice is at the heart of the narrative. Each song is a journey through her wounds, memories, and dreams, where floating melodies and raw emotion intertwine to spark reflection and escapism in the listener.

Reverie also explicitly explores Lolo’s French roots, through French language collaborations including “Coquelicot” featuring Disiz, and Les Motsfeaturing Dinos – a track where the two craft an intimate, romantic exchange built on desire, restraint and unspoken wounds. “Les mots” followed the album’s lead single, 3AM in San Francisco – a track that effortlessly fuses her airy vocals with punchy trap production, and seamlessly bridges her roots as she shifts between English and French, and was praised by The FADER, Rolling Stone and more; Holding Onwhich illustrated the tension between holding on to the past and loss, and the desire to move forward with your life.
