GEISHA WAR

There is a word in Japanese called “IKIGAI.” Ikigai translates to the reason of one’s being. It represents your purpose in life to fulfill happiness in pursuit of your passions while contributing to society. It is the thing you love most in life. It is the thing that you are good at and what you are born to do. It is what you are supposed to contribute to society with the gift of talent you were given. And it is something that you can be paid for. For all the artists, musicians, actors, actresses, director and producers involved in making and creating this movie, this is exactly what their IKIGAI is all about, creating and pursuing their love and passion as artists sharing their talents and contributing what they can to society, and getting paid for the things they love to do.

The movie GEISHA WAR is the first American/Japanese co-production from Robert Rhine of Girls and Corpses Films and legendary Japanese director Yoshihiro Nishimura of Eizo Films who is known for his iconic film “Tokyo Gore Police” that set the bar for Japanese Horror action gore films. GEISHA WAR is set during the old era of Edo in Yoshiwara Japan where a greedy American businessman and his gang of bullies and thugs try to take control of the area against rival Japanese Yakuza. But vengeful Geishas had other things in mind, protecting their territory from thugs. Without saying too much about the unreleased movie, let’s just say, there are tons of blood and gore everywhere—Think of Quentin Tarantino movies meet David Lynch movies meet Al Pacino’s Scarface all set in the old Edo Days of Japan as one epic film.

GEISHA WAR was filmed entirely in Japan with both English and Japanese subtitles and was executive produced by Robert Rhine and Yoshihiro Nishimura with screenplay by Daniel Benton. The movie stars Costas Mandylor (Saw movies), Yoshika Nishi, Natsumi Tadano, Shun Sagata, Miyuki Torii, Arata Yamanaka, Yuya Isikawa, Fujio Zama, and Robert Rhine (as Robert). This film will surely catch an audience who love this type of genre of films.

ANTI GROUPIES

Musicians just like actors and actresses have the same common denominator as their IKIGAI, to create and pursue their love and passion as artists and share their talent to the world to be heard and seen. Having seen The Anti Groupies several times now in the past, this band of young female artists keep getting better and better with their live shows. Whether they are on a big stage like at The World Famous Whisky A Go Go or at a very intimate venue such as the screening room of The Garland Hotel, they always deliver a powerful and strong performance with their electrifying energy and charming personalities on stage. They always perform with brutal force no matter how big or small the audience is. Their love of their craft can be seen with pure authenticity every time they play LIVE on stage. IN CONCLUSION:

Overall it was a great night to have been invited to a special screening of a film that is unique, creative, special, gory, and full of surprises. It was great seeing the AWESOME Anti Groupies perform LIVE on stage once again. A fun evening seeing colleagues in the photography industry and a fun time being part of this historic event. Hopefully, I can meet the actors and actresses and the director of this film from Japan someday. Arigato Gozaimasu for all your hard work. All the best to each and everyone of you in all your creative endeavors.
