Electronic music festivals are one of the rare things in life that you can thoroughly enjoy while in the heart of a major city or hundreds of miles from the nearest city. Each of the opposite settings, and everywhere in between, have their own merit. Each have their own vibe but have a common theme of having a fantastic time dancing to the varying beats.

September 8-10, 2023 the small village of Ninilchik, AK will see an influx of festival goers for the second annual Sacred Acre Festival. The village is a 3.5-hour drive south of Anchorage and 45 minutes north of Homer.
Being the first established electronic music festival in Alaska is no small feat. Having experience with music events helps but having a mission makes it that much easier and can provide the right amount of motivation to make it successful. The listed mission on the festival’s website is to bring awareness to the effects that trawling, especially bottom trawls, have on marine life. See the festival’s mission page for more information.
From year one to year two there are nearly double the number artists lined up this year. Headliners include Of The Trees, Boogie T, and Daily Bread. There are also four artists returning from year one including Jason Leech, DJ Fractal Theory, Clint Samples, and DJ Grim. Additionally Manic Focus, Jason Leech, Clint Samples, Phyphr, Marvel Years, Motifv, and Rachel Monae are all performing multiple sets during the 3 days!
As if the three days of great electronic music alone was not enough to entice a visit to southern Alaska there are also excursions add-ons available. These add-ons include a foraging excursion, fly fishing, helicopter excursion, spear fishing, and a now sold-out cruise of the bay.
Now that you know about some of the great artists performing, the fun add-ons, the dates, the location, and the solid mission of the festival all that is left is buy tickets and get ready to go! There are General Admission and VIP package options available.
So now that you have your tickets, how are you going to get there? That part is easy, the festival worked with a shuttle service that can provide a shuttle from the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage (ANC) directly to the festival grounds. If you would rather drive yourself there are vehicles available from local vehicle rental spots too.
And what about where to stay once you get there? For accommodations there are three options available. Options include tent camping, RV, and vehicle + trailer packages.
Before you arrive make sure to check out the FAQ for need-to-know information such as prohibited items, information about parking, and more. Then once you arrive there are tons of amazing artists performing as well as a devoted calm area called the sanctuary. This space will provide an area “where you can go at any time, day or night, to find shelter for your mind, your body, or your spirit.”
